Do you really believe there is no way for the 6th graders to access the kindergarten kids’ playground? In every elementary school that I or my children every attended, the older kids certainly could get at the little kids.

While I don’t really believe Tiger’s story, that particular statement by the teacher makes me more likely to believe it, rather than less. When people make up phony reasons that a story “can’t be true”, it makes me think it might be true.

Do I believe that older kids could get into the kindergarten play ground, sure. Do I believe this happened, no. Tiger is a liar.

"I became aware of my racial identity on my first day of school, on my first day of kindergarten. A group of sixth graders tied me to a tree, spray-painted the word 'n-----' on me, and threw rocks at me. That was my first day of school. And the teacher really didn't do much of anything," according to the book.
