Kindergarten teacher: Woods lied about school race incident (says Tiger lied about racial abuse)
The New York Post ^ | April 2, 2010 | NY Post Staff

(edit)

In the book, the story Tiger told includes the tale of when he was beaten down in the playground by a group of racist white kids.

"I became aware of my racial identity on my first day of school, on my first day of kindergarten. A group of sixth graders tied me to a tree, spray-painted the word 'n-----' on me, and threw rocks at me. That was my first day of school. And the teacher really didn't do much of anything," according to the book.

Decker said she has decided to address the issue five days after the book was released because she was not able to "get through to" Woods.

"I want a public apology and a private apology," she said.

Decker, who is also mentioned in a video about Tiger's life, said she's not looking for any money from Woods.

The retired teacher also said there was no way older students could ever enter the area where the kindergarten kids played.

"Teachers do very hard work. ... It is unfair to get this in return," said Allred, who does not plan to file a lawsuit in regards to the incident.

In addition, the former principal of the Cerritos Elementary School, in Cypress, Calif., where Tiger attended, said he has no knowledge of the incident.

A parent, Linda DaViega, who was always around the school at that time period, also said she has never heard of such an incident happening.

What is wrong with these people??

Many on the Left are perfectly fine with slandering white people and destroying their lives and careers with false accusations of racism.  It suits their agenda and fits into their false, manufactured template of all white people being inherently racist.

The accusers are not accustomed to their intended victims doing anything other than meekly crawling off into the sunset and licking their wounds, and trying to rebuild their lives because of the complete stranglehold that the Left has had on the media for generations.  It is an accepted fact among the Left that any accusation of racism can be freely made, and its veracity will rarely if ever be questioned.

That’s hilarious.

Gee. A minority makes false claims of racism. What’s next? The Sky is blue?

Good Grief--this sounds like the opening episode of "Smallville" years ago. Only the Kryptonite is missing.

Doesn't make the smell test. Probaly BS. Is Woods a grandiosity addict, too?

Because of that, I’m not sure who to believe.

This is the type of thing that can easily be fact-checked, if anyone really cares. He didn't grow up in 1950s Alabama ... the sort of incident he describes would have made the news and potentially the courts.

Well you know,Tiger thought he could use his card again and make it so being traumitzed made his hanky panky someone else’s fault? Sorry Tiger but that card expired on Nov 3rd 2008 and due to overuse will not be reissued!

>>>Funny, the article says five days after the book was released.<<<

I think that is a mistake. The artilce also says the book was published in 2005, making it 5 years ago.

The more I read it, the more I think that even if Tiger was full of it, the teacher is also. Her claims of “migraines, high blood pressure and other ailments” as a result of the story being published, and her retaining that opportunist Allred, make me think she is looking to cash in.

The article says the book was written by Charles Barkley, so perhaps he should be the one to apologize.

I also find it quite telling that neither the book's ghostwriter nor the publisher bothered themselves to do even the most minimal check on the veracity of this claimed incident prior to publishing it.

It seems that they were perfectly willing to destroy the lives of many staff members of this school.  A very sad commentary on the hysteria that surrounds the entire race issue.

Not necessarily, stuff like this does happen sometimes, with kids of all races being the victims and the victimizers, and it does not always make the papers. Plus this would have happened around 1980.

I’m not saying I believe Tiger’s story, but I’m not sure he was lying either. Perhaps somewhere in between, as in he exaggerated an incident where he was racially harassed.

I definitely don’t believe the teacher’s sob story about the “migraines, high blood pressure and other ailments”. If that were the case, I think she would have sued him back in 2005, or at least publicly refuted the story.

Not only did Tiger not write the book, I’d bet anything he’s never even read it.

More likely it was written by Black radical race baiters.

You're saying the teacher is a liar? Not sure who you meant.

I don’t ever recall hearing about this, back in 2005. I’m a serious golfer, and keep up with this kind of thing?

Does anyone remember a discussion about this, did anyone ever do any fact checking on the incident?

The major media back then, may have avoided the subject because it was easy to prove Tiger a liar?

So now, what does Tiger say about this? If he denies it happens, uh oh. If he maintains it happens, there is going to be some digging. He’s damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t.
