Two North Carolina doctors have been reprimanded for performing a caesarian on a woman, only to discover she wasn't pregnant at all.
The incident -- a rare case of pseudocyesis or a false or hysterical pregnancy -- happened at the Cape Fear Medical Center in Fayetteville, N.C.
The woman reportedly appeared at the hospital with her husband asking for a C-section. A resident in charge made the pregnancy diagnosis and doctors agreed to surgery after trying to induce labor for two days.

Maybe they should have one of those tests Obama said were unnecessary?
nothing on the ultra sound?
And this just a week after the passage of Obamacare.
Something about this story does not pass the smell test...
Docs would check babies heartbeat,do a ultrasound etc before a c-section....
April fools, doc. Now, pay up.
You know, criminal charges could also be filed against the "mother" and her "husband."
There’s a story on the Fox News site about this incident. According to that piece, an ultrasound was performed, no heartbeat was detected, and the C-section was done.
Under 0bamacare, she’d have skipped right up to the C-Section on the first day so they didn’t have to duplicate anything. Would have figured out she wasn’t pregnant 2 days earlier. Think of the waste and fraud saved by that!
but they found a mass?

This stinks to high heaven.
With nothing on a ultrasound, how would they even know when she was due? What kind of doctor just takes a woman’s word for a due date? oh quack
My wife had a ultra sound a few weeks ago to determine gender,i have the pic with a little arrow on it and typed beside it “penis”..
My point a Ultra shows pics as well, they would have checked the pics to see location of baby head up or head down before cutting her open...
I am not trying to be argumentative,i’ll take it that the story is true, but it still smells..
never been pregnant but experience with breast masses. they can tell from just an ex-ray
i can see blame on both sides
The invisible man?
Something is definitely fishy here. Standard procedure is if no heartbeat is detected with a doppler they perform an U/S and without a doubt they would then see a baby or no baby.
Someone might have caught the problem...the woman weighs 500 lbs.
These doctors will be part of a large lawsuit. However, under Obamacare when doctors are forced to follow bureaucratic dictats instead of practicing medicine who will be sued?
FAT BITCH!!!!!
Nasty case of cramps.
They aren’t saying who the doctors are or where they got their medical degrees. I would bet non-US medical schools.
