For many of us, the arrival of Easter means the arrival of a new season of joy of Easter parades, Easter egg hunts, chocolate bunnies, and sweet Peeps topping off a family meal. Some may wonder why we merrily celebrate at a time when were remembering Christs crucifixion on the cross. And there is something to that. Good Friday is, after all, about God who became Man, dying on the cross for our sins. And yet we celebrate Easter Sunday, and we are right to do so.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). This one verse sums up the miracle that is the Easter season and helps explain the celebration. Yes, Christ died for us, but in the end Easter isnt a season of sadness. Ultimately, the story of Christs rising from the dead three days after the crucifixion is the story of the triumph of hope over despair.
Hope is one of Americas unique virtues. Hope makes us dream and achieve the seemingly impossible. Its who we are, and its why were able to always believe that our best days are yet to come, both for our families and for our country. Easter time reminds us that we have every right to believe that this hope is based on time-tested truths and a solid foundation.
On behalf of the Palin family, I wish you all a peaceful and reflective Good Friday and a blessed and happy Easter Sunday.
- Sarah Palin
A class A ZOT!!
The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their hearts desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.
—H.L. Mencken, The Baltimore Evening Sun, July 26, 1920
Mencken was a visionary......
“Thanks to the founders for term limiting the highest office....”
Not to be a nit picker, but I don’t believe the Founders term limited the office of the President. I think that was a result of FDR.
Glad to see the troll gone.
Now, back to Palin’s message...
In a world of relativists, there is only one Truth.
Palin get’s the Truth.
On the other hand, Obama gets communism.
Why, thank you, young man!
“Doh!” (Slaps forehead). Thanks.
No problem, have a great day FRiend.
