Obama urges patience as health care law kicks in

PORTLAND, Maine — Facing a public still wary of his massive health care overhaul, President Barack Obama urged Americans not to judge the nearly $1 trillion legislation he signed into law last week until the reforms take hold.

During an enthusiastic, campaign-style appearance in Maine's largest city, Obama mocked the pundits and pollsters who say he isn't getting a boost from his yearlong campaign to pass the sweeping reform.

"Every single day since I signed the reform law, there's been another poll or headline that said, 'Nation still divided on health care reform. Polls haven't changed yet.' Well, yes. It just happened last week," Obama said to laughter.

He continued: "Can you imagine if some of these reporters were working on a farm and you planted some seeds, and they came out the next day and they looked and — 'Nothing's happened. There's no crop. We're going to starve. Oh, no! It's a disaster!' It's been a week, folks. So, before we find out if people like health care reform, we should wait to see what happens when we actually put it into place. Just a thought."

The president's overhaul extends health coverage to 32 million people who are uninsured and will shape how almost every American receives and pays for medical treatment. Some aspects of the plan go into effect this year, but president himself has said it could take four years for the full overhaul to take hold.

Obama's trip to Portland took him to the home state of two moderate Republican senators, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe, whose votes for the legislation the president ardently sought but ultimately could not win. The White House said both senators were invited to attend the event, but neither did.

he’s got to hit the road. Like I said a few times in the past, the big bad oval office desk don’t applaud and swoon when he stumbles in....he craves the dwindling admiration.

Everything about this bozo is sickening but his juvenile taunting is right up there at the top of the list.

How’s this for juvenile? I bought a car and drove it home and every day since then the car salesman has been at my door trying to sell me the same car all over again.

What’s the point? He doesn’t think that his constant selling of this stupid PASSED bill really shows how desperate he is? Repeat it every day and we will see the light and come to believe it’s good for us? What planet is this guy from?

Obama urging patience is translated to “They claim they don’t like it but they are too stupid to even understand it so they must be prejudging the bill.”

Remember Obama being cute the other day and quipping multiple times that his signing of the bill didn’t bring on Armageddon... and how it seemed like just another beautiful sunny spring day??

Well, remember that Greece didn’t go bankrupt the very minute that their lawmakers signed laws that would eventually lead to their demise either!

The UK did not explode when they established the HHS department. It took decades for the damage to become apparent... and now it’s probably too late for them to save themselves.

Obamacare is not like a heart attack. It is a malignant cancer that starts almost silently, mutating cells one by one until it spreads throughout the entire body... once you realize the damage it has done... death (to our economy, our health and our freedom) is imminent.

Oh, the arrogance of Obama and the stupidity of all those who follow him!

Senator Harry Reid Buys a Car

Sen. Reid goes to a local GM dealer in Washington , D.C. with the intention of buying a brand new vehicle.

Harry looks around and finds one he likes. After going back and forth with the salesman,
Harry settles on a price of $45,000.

Harry and the salesman go back to the office to complete the paperwork.

Harry works out a 4-year payment plan, and signs on the
bottom line. The salesman shakes Harry’s hand and says,
“Thanks Senator Reid, the car will be ready for pickup in 4 years.”

Harry says, “What are you talking about? Where are the keys to my new car?”

The salesman replies, “No, you don’t understand Senator. You make
payments for 4 years... THEN we give you the car. You know, just like your health plan”.

Harry, with a choking voice, says to the salesman, “But that’s not fair”.

And I say without any doubt or embarrassment:

NO SH@T! Get with the program Harry !!!!!!!!!!

On the other hand, he's offering the lack of asteroid strikes or massive cracks in the earth on the day after its passage as proof his critics were wrong about what would happen if the bill were made law.

This guy argues like a sixth grader.

Gee...and he said the pundits on TV were focused on the political "horse race". Apparently he is, too, because there are plenty of headlines from businesses like AT&T, John Deere, etc which he must be missing in his daily scan of the papers.

Patience is good and it is necessary to practice it. It will come in very handy while waiting for a physician under the new Health Control law.

0baMao, you and Congressman Weiner are going to need more than patience if you’re waiting for me to participate in your communist health insurance plan. Especially now that it was revealed that your bill does not give the IRS the power to do anything if I ignore your fees and fines.
