The Clark County District Attorneys office has filed a request for an arrest warrant for Scott Ashjian, the Las Vegas businessman running for U.S. Senate as a member of the Tea Party of Nevada.
Ashjian faces charges of felony theft and drawing and passing a bad check. Hes accused of bouncing a $5,000 business check in 2009.
Bernie Zadrowski, Chief Deputy and supervisor of the Bad Check Unit, said the case is being treated like any other.
Ashjian made headlines last week when he was attacked by members of the Tea Party Express, who claimed they had never heard of him before he filed as a Tea Party candidate.
A video posted on YouTube claimed Ashjian was a fraud and told him to, Get lost.
A judge in Carson City has set an April 14 hearing on a lawsuit that challenging his membership in the party and his place on the ballot.
No he wasn't. He is a fraud.
LOL
Tea Party of Nevada?
I wonder what the media will do with this story? They are low lifes and may run with it even though the story is false in regards to the Tea Party movement.
That is great news, if you are going to try to shake things up like this you better make sure your stuff is in order! I just a got a letter from Robert List, Republican National Committeeman for Nevada, and I have been compelled to donate at least $25 to Bill Parson’s fight against Harry Reid.
Harry Reid has a lot of money to spend on this campaign. These National dollars could go a long way in the small State of Obama, Republicans also need to turn this into a National campaign.
On the other hand he would fit right in to the senate!
Ashjian made headlines last week when he was attacked by members of the Tea Party Express,
Sorry, jail and fine for the media for outright incendiary statements. Akin to yelling “fire” in a crowded theater.
I think you were the one who was asking me about this ping.
That's easy: His next door neighbor's third cousin's ex-sister-in-law's butcher's brother's lawyer did some work for the Palin campaign.
That was my initial reaction, but I dont think they can get away with it. The real Tea Party is making too much noise to make sure everyone knows that Ashjian is a fraud who has never had anything to do with the legit Tea Party.
Ashjian is bringing a lot of bad publicity on himself. I dont know what he is thinking. You dont run for office when you have a closetful of skeletons.
This fraud made it up to co-opt the good name of the real Tea Party. No one in Tea Party had ever seen him or heard of him.
He sounds like a better socialist Democrat candidate than Harry Reid.

the Independent American Party earlier this past week filed suit in Carson City that challenges Ashjians membership in the Tea Party of Nevada. Documents filed with the lawsuit appear to show that Ashjian changed his voter registration on March 2, the day after he filed his declaration of candidacy. A District court judge in Carson City has set a hearing date of April 14.
Scott Ashjian says he is being set up by the Republican Party
Other Tea Party groups in Nevada have already denounced his legitimacy
Candidate from Las Vegas spurned by members of tea party movement
Las Vegas businessman Jon Scott Ashjian said he’s so disillusioned with the Republican and Democratic parties that he’s been moved to create his own third party, naming it after the tea party movement that has come to embody the intense conservative anger toward establishment politicians.
But his decision to run for U.S. Senate against Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., under the Tea Party of Nevada label has been met with intense vitriol from grass-roots conservative activists who say he hasn’t been part of growing the movement into a boisterous force over the past year.
And establishment Republicans have openly wondered whether he was planted by Reid’s campaign in an effort to split the GOP vote — a suspicion that has never been founded.
Ashjian rejects both sentiments with two words: cowards and sheep.

State officials on Wednesday revoked his contractor’s license after he failed to respond to the Nevada State Contractors Board and skipped a hearing regarding defaulted business payments.
The state board has received five complaints that Ashjian’s business owes more than $36,000 on various materials in which at least one check was written with insufficient funds. It was unclear Friday whether the criminal complaint against Ashjian stems from that check.
Ashjian also owes more than $200,000 in back taxes on his property, according to county officials.
Ashjian, owner of a business called A&A Asphalt, didn’t respond Thursday and Friday to e-mail and telephone messages seeking comment on the criminal case or an explanation for what public documents suggest is a pattern of nonpayment of business and personal debts. A felony conviction would bar him from running for office.
Records show Ashjian lost his state contractor’s license Wednesday after failing to appear for a disciplinary proceeding stemming from a complaint that he bounced a $981.82 check to a materials supplier last year. Ashjian also does business as Jon Scott Ashjian.
The Nevada State Contractors Board fined Ashjian $1,500 and ordered him to pay almost $1,150 in investigative costs, board spokesman Art Nadler said.
Public documents on file with the Clark County Recorder show Ashjian also faced foreclosure on home loans totaling almost $1 million, owed a $200,000 Internal Revenue Service tax debt and faced city nuisance actions and liens alleging he failed to pay homeowners’ dues, a roofer, and his trash collector.
In Florida, a leftist Democrat registered a “Tea Party.”
The left is creating “Tea Party” registrations around the states hoping to get the ignorant to vote for a third party and dilute any real conservative movement and to keep the leftists in office and thus in power.
Either of them could make a credible run as the Sociopath Party candidate.
