Adrian, Mich. (AP) - A Christian militia group was a target of at least one of a series of weekend raids the FBI conducted in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio, a Michigan militia leader says.
The FBI said Sunday that it had conducted raids in the three states, resulting in at least three arrests. Federal warrants were sealed, but a federal law enforcement official speaking on condition of anonymity said some of those arrested face gun charges and officials are pursuing other suspects. Some of the suspects were expected in court Monday.
It wasn't clear what prompted the raids, but Michael Lackomar, a spokesman for the Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia, said one of his team leaders got a frantic phone call Saturday evening from members of Hutaree, a Christian militia group. They said their property in southeast Michigan was being raided by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Lackomar said.
"They said they were under attack by the ATF and wanted a place to hide," he said. "My team leader said, 'No thanks.'"
FBI spokeswoman Sandra Berchtold confirmed the FBI had been working in two southeast Michigan counties near the Ohio state line but wouldn't say whether the raids were connected to Hutaree.
FBI spokesman Scott Wilson in Cleveland said agents arrested two people Saturday after raids in two Ohio towns. A third arrest made in northeast Illinois on Sunday stemmed from a raid Saturday just over the border in northwest Indiana, both part of an ongoing investigation led by the FBI in Michigan, according to a statement from agents in Illinois.
Lackomar said his group wasn't affiliated with Hutaree but that a handful of that group's members twice attended training sessions with the Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia that focused on survival training and shooting practice.

Were the guns full auto?
The website was a little odd, but I have seen worse{the New Black Panthers and other left wing groups}.
Seems like these guys pissed off the wrong people at the wrong time and were made an example of.
Now, lets see if Obamas stromtroopers goes after NBP...lol
They'll be unsealed when those arrested are arraigned.
Where was the FBI when the Black Panthrs were threatening?
I don’t think this article gives any information to make an informed opinion. Could this be the ATF overstepping its bounds? Possibly. Could this be the ATF acting on hard intelligence that some whacko religious group was going to set a bomb off somewhere or something like that? Possibly. We just don’t know and will have to take a wait and see attitude.
nationalblackfootsoldiers....
Google that....all kinds of black muslim supremecy from the hood...
Two possibilities -
either these “militia” were professing Christians, and “it’s started”,
or they are still in the beginning stages, and they found some group that they could CALL Christians and paint us all with the same brush,
in preparation for further action down the road.
Nice. Nine years after 9-11, the media still can’t bring itself to refer to the terrorists as terrorists, let alone Muslims, but these guys are already a Christian Militia.
The feds weren’t protecting us;
.....THEY WERE SENDING US A WARNING....
A “warning”, eh?
Was this a warning with the intent of making us back down and cower?
I don’t think that’s the response they’ll get from any such “warning”.
This article gives enough information to create an impression. It is propaganda.
The government's actions at this point are indefensible.
Federal warrants were seald:
Infidels violated Sharia Law. Penalty is death by beheading or being burnd alive by a Dike.
The left wing media and the Obama administration don’t use the the term MUSLIM extremist or terrorist but I’m sure they’ll have no trouble using the term CHRISTIAN extremist!
These raids are a crock. Apparently, they are designed to provide headlines to the MSM. Undoubtedly some of the Christians didn't have trigger locks on their weapons and some had untrimmed hangnails. And I almost forgot, some had vicious dogs which had to be shot 15 to 25 times as they cowered under the porch.
Government response to the Tea parties.
I think this may be just the start.
The more I hear about this the worse this is sounding, but there are still very few facts about these raids, and there probably won’t be until these guys show up in court later this morning. I would hope we would get some indication of what their probable cause was, and it had better be good.
I’m trying to temper my judgement on this, especially in light of the potential for illegal activity of some sort. But I am also troubled at the continued speculation in the media that somehow this group was dimed out by a member and/or representative for CAIR. If indeed these raids were launched as a result of a complaint that proves to be unfounded, then we have a very big problem, because these raids were authorized at the highest levels of the Justice Department, if not from the White House itself.
Lots of talk out there about another Waco, or Ruby Ridge. If so the difference is there were no deaths over this, at least none that we know of so far.
I counsel patience, and decaf coffee today until we have something in writing that attempts to back these raids up.
Seriously, let’s avoid any inflammatory speculation about what happened until we have some more facts...
All that is missing here is that gutless little punk Lon Horiuchi ridng around in a flame tank.
What makes you think you will ever get any unbiased information from the government or the media about this event?
Look, it's not that hard to put together.
Janet Napolitano made public press releases that Homeland Security was going to be on the lookout for "terrorist groups" threatening Muslims in the United States.
As soon as the Health Deform Bill passed, there was a concerted effort to paint all opposition with the same brush as racist and sexist knuckle dragging Neandrathals.
The Tea Partiers are being systematically degraded in the press and threatened by politicians.
What other information do you need to base an opinion on knowing that you won't get any objective information on this single event?
