MOSCOW — Two female suicide bombers blew themselves up on Moscow's subway system as it was jam-packed with rush-hour passengers Monday, killing at least 37 people and wounding 102, officials said.
The head of Russia's main security agency said preliminary investigation places the blame on rebels from the restive Caucasus region that includes Chechnya, where separatists have fought Russian forces since the mid-1990s.
The first explosion took place just before 8 a.m. at the Lubyanka station in central Moscow. The station is underneath the building that houses the main offices of the Federal Security Service, or FSB, the KGB's main successor agency.
A second explosion hit the Park Kultury station about 45 minutes later.
Emergency Minister Sergei Shoigu said the toll was 37 killed and 102 injured, but he did not give a breakdown of casualties at each station, according to Russian news agencies.
"I heard a bang, turned my head and smoke was everywhere. People ran for the exits screaming," said 24-year-old Alexander Vakulov, who said he was on a train on the platform opposite the targeted train at Park Kultury.
"I saw a dead person for the first time in my life," said 19-year-old Valentin Popov, who had just arrived at the station from the opposite direction.
In a televised meeting with President Dmitry Medvedev, Federal Security Service head Alexander Bortnikov said body fragments of the two bombers pointed to a Caucasus connection. He did not elaborate.

I believe that Al Qaeda is so far off the deep end as far as extremest groups go that they will attack just about anyone. They attack the Chinese in Western China (and attempted to attack Beijing), they attack Russia all the time. AQ even has directed attacks against both Iran and other Islamic extremest groups (Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood, ect) Many chechen separatists do not like AQ either.
We have to be vigilant, especially in New York City where millions of people take the subway everyday and it is almost impossible to ehck every single man, woman, young or old with a backpack.
There are many local cells out there that we don’t even know about.
This is also a city where 125 languages are spoken and it is politically incorrect to single out and profile anyone.
According to pmsnbc, the muslim leader of the United Communist States of America is polishing up the congressional medals of honor that he will award to the bombers’ families.
And in Russia, that's unusual.

On subjects such as the Black Muslim movement in the US, "Black Liberation Theology" (ie, reverend Wright's thing), formation of the Black Liberation Front in Cuba, KGB involvement with the Weather Underground, and the revolutionary communist "Liberation" movement overall, most are absolutely lacking in understanding. That is obvious from the responses I see on related threads. You seem to be among the group that knows practically zilch about these subjects. Either that or you do you know but, for whatever stupid/crazy reason, want people who are actively trying to get the info out to be silent. MSM media silence on these critical matters is how Obama happened. Yet even Hannity and Limbaugh didn't scratch the surface on this stuff.

‘SPAM’, btw, is meaningless material unrelated to the subject at hand. ie, your repeated whinings about my posts. What I post is often of critical importance to the subject matter and usually expands upon it significantly. And I’m not referring to anything I say personally but rather the research I’ve done, most of it from highly credible “horse’s mouth” sources.
I most certainly have sympathy for the innocent victims of any terror attack. But I don't trust the FSB/KGB Putin government any further than I can spit. In the theater attack some years ago, the Russian government was as responsible for most if not all of the deaths as the terrorists. The victims died from the chemical agent they used to suppress the attackers. They claimed they didn't have enough antidote or some such thing to bring people out. They probably wanted the high kill tally (a hundred or two I believe) so to better justify a crushing retaliation. This is how they operate.
I also have a grudging respect for Putin. He looks out first for Russia’s national interests (unlike American “leaders”). I don’t like his repressive policies and I know he is not American’s “friend.” But he takes care of his country.
As for the Muslims in the Caucasus, the Russians don’t screw around when it comes to dealing with them. 37 Russian dead will be just one drop of blood in the bucket full the Muzzies can expect to yield.
As far as I’m concerned, keep right on spamming.

People here(and by here, I mean Americans, not FReepers)should open their eyes. This could be us in a few years. No matter how friendly and tolerant people are, the ROP’ers do not play nice. Russians have known what muslims are about for hundreds and hundreds of years. If one is handling snakes(political tools of the state)one is bound to be bit by one sooner or later.
I do sympathize with the general Russian public, but their government? Not so much.
But the really frightening part to me about all of this is it makes me wonder why the islamic cells are left alone as a rule in our country. Is our government using them as a tool of the state like Russia does?
I have noticed the occasional lone female in muslim garb running amok in stores and I always wonder if they are on dry runs...

The intention of terrorists was to kill ALL hostages, that’s what the explosives were for, you know? So, if it were up to the muslim scum - not one single person was to walk out of that theater alive. And yet, the security forces managed to save 720 out of 850 hostages. It is a heroic success in my book.
