Just announced on Fox. One of the first "benefits" of Obamacare is news that companies with large populations of retirees that now have health insurance through their former employees will, instead, be dumped and forced onto Medicaid and Medicare. The resulting fines for the companies will be far less than continuing to pay for retirees' medical care. It's all allegedly legal under ObamaCare.
Live on Fox News Channel.
“Which companies?”
UNION companies. They are the ones with the highest retiree healthcare debt. That’s why the UNIONS have wanted this plan in the first place...to unload and reload.
I am sorry - don’t blame me - blame the unions. I foolishly gave McCain money to try to stop the Kenyan.
Looks like Verizon was the first to send the memo... via WSJ
Lucent dropped virtually all retiree health benefits years ago.
It doesn't matter that "single payer" is not part of the current bill. It will destroy the insurance industry to the point where there is no longer any choice but to implement single payer.
“So ObamaCare is ACTUALLY carefully designed to destroy health insurance!”
Well that was obvious from the start, but is only the beginning. Well, the TARP with the strings attached, the GM takeover, those might be considered the beginning. But the end result is the same. The economic power will reside with the government. Not the Public. Not the Workers. Not Business.
That has been the plan all along. Here is the real evil part of Obama’s plan (besides killing seniors and babies).
The so called insurance pools don’t begin until 2014....yet people will begin losing their insurance almost immediately. So that by the time the 2014 elections roll around...Obama will run on a full public option plan citing all the poor people with no insurance, while the republicans are trying to repeal his original bill.
I don’t think Americans are going to fall for Obama’s dirty trick though.
...just the start, next on the agenda to destroy this country....finacial institutions, ya know , where most retirees keep their 401's or IRA's, the government plans to oversee who is worthy and who is not....the people they think are a risk, they take over, they fire the board members, they "install" the new board.....remember GM?. What do you think is going to happen to The Hartford?, Prudential?
Where do I sign up to get my ‘crazy check’?
on purpose
I hope my worthless brother-in-law ( If you know him he probbly owes you money)enjoys his Obamacare. Wait till he gets fined for not having insurance! Boy will he yelp!
This is kind of a misknowmer. Anyone who gets SS must use medicare as primary, and very seldom does their retirement package insurance come into play. They also cannot go to a doctor or hospital that does not accept medicare, so the instances of these insurance policies being used are very minimal. It all depends on whether the person is retired early, disability retired, or retired at retirement age. The first example is the only one in which a person might temporarily use a retirement benefit pkg. insurance.
To start, Caterpillar, Medtronics, and Verizon.
No he won’t, He will hit you up for his payment. LOL
DING, DING, DING, we have a winner!
You are exactly right. I’ve been trying to keep this old thread alive from 2009, of a booklet from 1939 about FDR and the New Deal. THIS IS HAPPENING ALL OVER AGAIN AND EXACTLY THE SAME!!! This is a brief excerpt.

Worse outwitted were those who kept trying to make sense of the New Deal from the point of view of all that was implicit in the American scheme, charging it therefore with contradiction, fallacy, economic ignorance, and general incompetence to govern.
But it could not be so embarrassed and all that line was wasted, because, in the first place, it never intended to make that kind of sense, and secondly, it took off from nothing that was implicit in the American scheme. It took off from a revolutionary base......Its meaning was revolutionary and it had no other. For what it meant to do it was from the beginning consistent in principle, resourceful, intelligent, masterly in workmanship, and it made not one mistake....
But more than that, they had to be taken in a certain sequence, with forethought and precision of timing. One out of place might have been fatal. What happened was that one followed another in exactly the right order, not one out of time or out of place.....
The effect was to keep people excited about one thing at a time, and divided, while steadily through all the uproar of outrage and confusion a certain end, held constantly in view, was pursued by main intention.
The end held constantly in view was power.
