WASHINGTON Claiming a historic triumph that could define his presidency, a jubilant Barack Obama signed a massive, nearly $1 trillion health care overhaul on Tuesday that will for the first time cement insurance coverage as the right of every U.S. citizen and begin to reshape the way virtually all Americans receive and pay for treatment.
After more than a year of hyperpartisan struggle and numerous near-death moments for the measure Obama declared "a new season in America" as he sealed a victory denied to a line of presidents stretching back more than half a century. Democratic lawmakers cheered him on, giving the White House signing ceremony a rally-like atmosphere as they shouted and snapped photos with pocket cameras or cell phones.

The Constitution is the law of the land. This so called law isn’t worth the toilet paper it was signed on. And it won’t be recognized.
Sheeple will recognize it. True patriots will not, and will be prepared for the consequences. If there are enough of the latter, enough who are not cowards... there's hope.
It’s the law of man.
I won’t abide by any of it. No real American should abide by any single word of this Marxist crap. Obama/Pelosi is going to have to enforce it with the barrel of a gun. And even then, I refuse to submit.
A new season indeed, Zerobama—the Winter of our Discontent.
Hugo Chavez is so proud. His student is getting it done.
Tapping my foot waiting for my free Viagra and 3,000% raise.
Well I’m ready to start restricting the amount of food into the cities. Purely for health reasons of course.
No red meat has to be next.

Gee, the American public sure is a fickle bunch. They changed their mind quicker than my ex wife!
How does this get around revenue bills having to arise from the House, when the bill passed the Senate first? And if it was a matter of the Senate passing a House bill—even though that’s only a technicality, in that they altered it past recognition to the point that everyone recognizes it really wasn’t the same bill but is merely pretending as if it is—doesn’t it have to go back to the Senate before it becomes law? What the hell is going on here?
I REFUSE to accept a bribe-filled, murderous piece of paper as law.
Any government people lurking here need only go to my POS senator and ask for my name and address. A piece of advice - Bring plenty of help.
“Gee, the American public sure is a fickle bunch. They changed their mind quicker than my ex wife!”
Assuming it’s a real poll (and that they asked likely voters instead of adults) it’s a “they finally did something” bump. Like McCain’s post-convention bump, it will disappear. There will be another window, one which I assume will last past the next election, wherein people will continue to hate healthcare reform before they forget it exists.
Now we’re talking! I’m with you 100%, and will not be intimidated - even if it means my life. Nothing less than this kind of resolve will cut it in these treacherous times. Who else refuses to play the coward?
exactly. This afternoon a tax attorney told me, not advising me, that if the IRS drags you to court, the 10 and 13 th amendment arguments alone are “humdingers’.
The Usurper is busy replacing the Law of the Land with this phoney "overhaul". He is remaking the Constitution in his own image and likeness. Obamacare: power over life and death.
Take away the Rule of Law (read: liberty in law, life itself), replace it with Obamacare (edict of death), and it's destination desolation (death in the wilderness).
Obama and his lying Congress are pretending to be Moses, holding up a fake healing serpent in the wilderness. Those who look upon Obamacare for life, will surely die.
