McCollum to file lawsuit against health care bill

ORLANDO, FL -- Moments after Congress voted to approve President Obama's health care legislation, Florida's Attorney General announced he will file a lawsuit to declare the bill unconstitutional.

Bill McCollum will join Attorneys General from South Carolina, Nebraska, Texas, Utah, Pennsylvania, Washington, North Dakota and South Dakota to file a lawsuit against the federal government.

"The health care reform legislation passed by the U. S. House of Representatives this evening clearly violates the U.S. Constitution and infringes on each state's sovereignty," McCollum said in a statement distributed late Sunday night.

"If the President signs this bill into law, we will file a lawsuit to protect the rights and the interests of American citizens."

McCollum will hold a press conference at his Orlando office Monday morning to discuss his plans.

Wondering if Mike Cox in MI is on board. It would certainly give a huge boost to his run for governor.

I honestly believe the States have the best shot at repealing this monstrosity.

“...the named DEFENDANT in each those lawsuits would be BANKRUPTED from attempting to defend.”

That I believe would be true in the case of Conservatives, or say Republicans in general as WE are not a minority political mafia brotherhood as are the Leftist Comrades.

They take care of their own as long as their own take care of them. Only those of the Left that break the Leftist chain so-to-speak IMO could be effected as you describe.

I think so too! The states have standing because of unfunded mandates. Cong Mary Fallin is calling on Edmonson, OK AG, who had originally said he was going to file as part of the 38 to make a statement today. When you call his office, you get an answering machine.

Edmonson has been the front runner for the Dem Candidate to run against Mary who is the GOP frontrunner so she is going after him today.

No they won’t. There are some parts of this, namely the mandates, that I expect to be thrown out on their face.

I would agree, but we all said the same thing about Campaign finance and look what happens. When policy preferences replace the Constitution as the guiding principle, then it becomes impossible to predict the result.

Another Dem lap dog?
Rush Limbaugh today, after I made my post:

“Focusing on the past is only relevant in terms of how we learn from it and not make the same mistakes in the future. So yep, we repeal — fine and dandy — and we take these lawsuits. These lawsuits are an uphill climb. We can’t rely on lawsuits to win the day. I mean, they need to be filed and they need to be argued, and we need to push back in every direction, but the focus has to be on defeating Democrats in November in these midterm elections. We have the people. We have the intellectual arguments. We have the commonsense arguments. We have history. But they won yesterday. “

But is that even possible? I think they are protected from lawsuits from private citizens. If it were possible, I would sue them for the anxiety attacks that I am now having. My heart has been damaged and my B.P. is through the roof. They owe me big time for damage to my health and my mental state.

Obama pal Gov. Crist against McCollum’s lawsuit.

Ya'll, if you can, please support Marco Rubio for US Senate, Florida. If Charlie Crist wins the primary, you'll enjoy the disaster as a nation that we have endured with Crist in public office in Fla.

Marco Rubio, not Crist, the white hair nightmare.

A talk show money man was saying people should pull out of stock in businesses who got sweetheart deals and bailout banks. He said boycott by pulling out shares and investments instead of making signs.

I wonder if a manufacturer could make up some giant foam gavels. Can you see gavels at the protests? I think that would be a perfect way to mock Pelosi's gavel!!!

FREEPERS, find a foam company to make giant gavels for protests.

You know what I think of Crist — my thoughts haven’t changed from when we were on Gallagher’s side. Crist would make a horrible Senator IMHO. I have been supporting Rubio from Day One when he was 30 points behind. :)

Someone here really should work on it. We must have someone here who knows a manufacturer. I think this is almost as awesome as Sore Loser. I feel this would be a great thing for the anti-Pelosi movement. Who do you know here and please give them my idea. This could go national and viral.

GIANT NERF GAVELS. Then we could notify Hannity, Rush, Savage, Boortz, et al. that the gavels were coming. That'll show Ms. Gavel she's not queen.
