Former Massachusetts governor and 2008 GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney predicted that President Obama's massive health care bill would be passed by Congress, and he outlined a legislative strategy to overturn the bill by cutting off the funding necessary to implement it.
Speaking in Dallas yesterday as part of the publicity tour for his new book, No Apology: The Case for American Greatness, Romney said that the key to his plan was for the GOP to reclaim majorities in both houses of Congress as well as the White House.
Romney said that those members voting for the health care bill were guilty of "clueless behavior", and he predicts heavy losses heavy losses for Democrats in this year's midterm elections. "The American people are not going to stand still for this bill and the government running our healthcare, said Romney. "The American people will be with us and they will throw those guys out."

The reason I don't mind the aggressive anti-Romney talk here is because I see the guy as a true threat to the limited government conservative movement. Romney thinks that includes a belief in cap and trade, global warming, bigger government intrusion in health care, more benevolent government oversight, and more management and efficiency techniques to better serve the American taxpayer in the government's oppression of them.
There was a time it seemed it must be impossible to come up with someone worse than Clinton. Then, unbelievably before our eyes, grew Hillary ... and then Obama! And Obama won!
Look at the Republicans we've had in office, doing many good things but also growing government. Getting along. Negotiating. Reaching across the aisle. In fact, betraying limited government principle. It pushed the right to the left, and the center position moved to the left as well.
So now we have Obama because compared to the "right," he's not so far left! Think four to six years of a Republican president who believes in global warming, thinks cap and trade is a way to save the planet, thinks that American government needs to be more efficient. Any downsizing of government is to increase efficiency.
Meanwhile, otherwise politically aloof plain Americans yearn for a party whose candidates will steadfastly stand for less government not to increase efficiency, but to reduce government, period. IN PRINCIPLE. They want somebody who is willing to say outloud that global warming is obviously crap, that government needs to get off our backs and back into the servants' quarters. They want the government out of health care. They want limited government conservatism.
Imagine a Republican administration that in essence embraces the concept of growing government into the health insurance picture among individuals, employers, employees, etc. Imagine a Republican administration that goes along in principle with the cap and trade environmentalist scenario. Now visualize Romney, because that's what he is.
THEN imagine how far left and crazily socialist will be the NEXT Democrat wave. Obama makes Clinton look dignified and principled. How will Obama's next Democrat president successor make him look?

Really? If, by chance, it were to come down to Mitt or obama you would vote for obama or stay home or vote a third candidate? All three choices have the same net...more obama. Which would you choose?

And for the lunatic bashers, I’m not here to promote Romney. It’s very annoying logging in to see every page look like Daily Kos.
Let Willard get RomneyCare (which is the same things as HusseinCare) repealed first, then we can talk.
"Cap and trade woudl tax American citizens and American emploeyrs and send business and jobs to high-poluting nations." (Sounds good so far ... then he adds:) "Any carbon plan has to be worldwide in scop. Let's have a worldwide solution, not an American one."
TJ, he was advocating letting a global body determine energy production and consumption policy for the United States.
He has yet to denounce global warming as "snake oil science," which it is. And frankly, even if he DID denounce it now, I would assume he said it not because he believed it in principle, but because his finger in the wind told him you and I want to hear it. He has zero credibility.
You're a hypocrite.
All the main polluting countries have said publicly they will never abide by any cap and tax, as it would kill their economy. Romney is well aware of that; next you'll accuse him of inventing political posturing. The "record" you're citing is false, but no doubt you will keep citing it. The phrase fake but accurate springs to mind. I prefer to stick to the facts, and bash democrats. Not republicans.
