Stupak: We are close to deal with White House
The Hill ^

Posted on 03/21/2010 6:43:30 AM PDT by AlanD

Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) said Sunday morning that he is close to striking a deal with the Obama administration on abortion provisions.

"We are close to getting something done," Stupak said in an interview with MSNBC.

Stupak said he engaged in talks late into the night on Saturday night.

The possible deal would focus on an executive order that would specify there would be no public funding for abortions in the healthcare bill.

"We're close but we're not there yet," Stupak said.

Democratic leaders said Sunday they have the votes on healthcare reform, but Stupak said until there is a deal struck, they don't have the votes.

Stupak said "there were eight of us" in the negotiating room with us, all of them no votes.

Stupak’s talks late into the night are a tactic of Moonies to wear someone down and change their mind. Stupak should have said what he wanted and voted for nothing less, then went to bed for a good night’s sleep. He is in Ob’s pocket.

I say we make Stupak the #1 target for his actions! He deserves defeat for this to rely on Obama for anything. Another sell out which was predicted by some all along that he wouldn’t vote no.

Chet’s district also includes College Station and he’s an Aggie. He’s been able to put together a base of vets, Aggies, and inner city to stay in office for well over a decade. He also has an extremely well run office.
Since you live in Texas, you know how much loyalty Aggies have to other Aggies. However, Chet’s positions on gun control, etc., have worn this base thin. The passing of the WWII generation, which tended to vote Democratic has also hurt him. However, he still brings home massive amounts of funding, and that gives him strong ties with local vet groups and others.
He could be on his way out, though. There’s more organized opposition to him this time around than ever before.

You can hide things from man, but you can hide nothing from God.

Romans 2:16

This will take place on the day when God will judge men's secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

You are being unfair. Obama keeps his promises for at least 90 days.

From the article: “... under discussion by leaders on abortion ...”

It is a sick world we live in when a significant number of our elected officials — commanding a majority of the votes in Congress — come to be known as “leading on abortions.”

Sick, sick, sick.

I think here at the deadline Pelosi may well have 216. I don’t think she has any reason to be confident that she will keep 216. Why else would she and Obama be negotiating with Stupak?

Like others, I suspect the odds of passage are 50-50 or better. But they aren’t 80-20.

And the endgame here has been so grotesque that whatever ill will these people have been doing is magnified a thousand fold. They will be turned out by the American people in droves come November.

Let ALL the bastards vote “yes” on the bill. That will stop any talk about not kicking out “blue dogs” in November ‘10.

The rats will allow as many lousy dogs as possible to vote “no” as long as they can pass the bill by a couple of votes.

We know how the game is played and we should kick out ALL rats and dogs in November ‘10, even if they voted “no.” No exceptions.

Yup weak coverage as Obama supported federal funding of abortions here in US, international funding of abortion counseling, and partial birth abortions!!!!!!!!!!!! He will rescind an EO after the Nov. elections and Stupak has to know that :(

Parents cannot renounce US citizenship of minor children.

If Zero was a US citizen at birth (probable), he would have had to renounce his citizenship before a consular officer or US magistrate after age 18.

He may well have had an Indonesian passport, but that fact alone would not constitute renouncing his US citizenship.

I have lots of friends, both parents born here, who carry Irish passports granted under the "one Irish grandparent" rule (no longer in effect).

Who does little Barry most resemble> (Ann and Lolo were friends at college in Honolulu before she married BHOsr)

(why is the above the only background record of any schools - got missed in the scrubbing?)

Barry Soetoro

born - Honolulu

citizen: Indonesia

Father - Lolo Soetoro

faith - Islam

He says he was 'never' Barry Soetoro.

Obama 14 years ago - and today

Oh no, the 'younger' version is an Indonesian "twin" who just happens to be from the same city, of all the cities in the world, that young Barry lived in with his "step" father. This man is 14 years Barry's junior. Take 14 years of Barry today and you have ?

these are just a few of a long list of inconvenient stuff that no many want to look at.
