Posted on 03/21/2010 3:02:38 AM PDT by LS

Glenn Nye, D-VA has announced a no vote on the health care bill.

Was he an expected no?

According to Lopez late last night, Stupak appeared to be holding firm.

“We need to make sure providers are reimbursed more on value than volume,” said Rep. Ron Kind, D-Wis

^
Put in Obama terms,

if you vote YES, you are voting for volume care,

and if you vote NO, you are voting for quality care

Beccera from CA was on C-Span a few minutes ago and let the cat out of the bag. He said that at the end of the day he thinks they’ll win. He was real keen on making a big deal out of stating they would win. So, they haven’t won yet and they don’t have the votes - just expect/hope to by the end of the day.

Also, rules have changed - they will vote on the senate bill first.

This is from a 2007 contact list of congressional aides. Some might not be there any longer, but worth a try. The ones on the one post are senate aides, a few have bounced back, it’s worth the effort to clog up their email system along with the phones, and 1/3rd of these senators are up for re-election.

Remember they are all being offered BRIBES for their votes. Ask them how much their bribe price is.
The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Sunday March 21st.

And here are toll-free numbers we can use to call any Senators or Reps.

At the first number below you must wait through a tape recording urging you to tell your Rep or Senator to vote “yes” for the health care bill. Just hang on and when the recording is over, you will get the Capitol operator. Just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Then you will either talk to an aid or have the chance to leave a message for him/her to vote NO on the health care bill.

When you use the second number and the Capitol operator comes on, just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Every time I use this number I get the Rep or Senator’s answer machine, so it may be set up that way all the time...to go to their answer machine. Either way you can leave a message to vote NO on the health care bill!

We need to use these toll free numbers that have been set up for the health care/ BO supporters and illegals to use! After all they are FREE!

Holy cow. They don’t have the votes unless EVERY ONE of the undecideds breaks their way AND they get five of the “lean opposed.”

If Firedoglake is correct, then it looks like we are in good shape going into the vote. From reading the comments at that website it seems the undecideds are avoiding Pelosi because they most probably are voting no. One can only wish! Also, the readers (progressives) at that site are mounting phone calls to the undecided to vote ‘no’! They hate the bill too — for other reasons obviously (no public option).

Also, rules have changed - they will vote on the senate bill first.

If that happens, it goes back to the House and they will have to go back to committee again. This will result in a huge delay before the House can vote on it. On top of that, the whole wording of what they will then have to vote on will be totally changed thus making the House dems rethink their votes.

No, I’m talking about the senate HC bill, not the senate reconciliation bill. The House votes on the senate bill, zero signs it into law, the House then votes on the recon bill, and then supposedly the senate takes up the recon bill, approves it with at least 51, and zero signs that into law, thus amending the original senate bill that the House doesn’t like but is stuck with because of the Scott Brown senate election/41 pubs/no cloture.
