As part of today's rally to stop the Democrats' health care reform legislation thousands of protesters descended on the lawn of Capitol building. But many more were also using the occasion to visit the their congressional representative and tell them what they think of the bill.
However, Capitol Police recently stopped allowing any of the peaceful protesters to enter into congressional buildings. Crowds are now gathering in front of the House and Senate offices, demanding that they be let in to air their constituent concerns.

So we the people cannot enter the Capitol, peacefully? What BS.
To: Former Military Chick
Another likely time for bricks to be thrown. Not wise at the House.
I wonder the rationale for preventing entry?

This is BS. We paid for that building and the salaries of those that work within to represent us.

McConnell, Boehner and every other republican lawmaker should be out on the Capitol lawn WITH THOSE CROWDS!!! Somehow I doubt they will be. Must NOT mingle with the riff-raff, after all.

Well if they won’t allow us in, perhaps we can keep them out tomorrow?

It's not We the People's government anymore.
Say you want a revolution...
Looks like the commie 'RATS are going to need a "teachable moment" similar to the one Americans gave King George and his bunch. This is why I don't like kings and dictators.

However, Capitol Police recently stopped allowing any of the peaceful protesters to enter into congressional buildings. Could now be the time to stop being so "peaceful" & begin to practice a lil civil disobedience?

Silence, foolish peasant! Those who walk the halls of the Congressional House of Lords need not be bothered by your prattle, for they are hard at work taking care of your future. Don’t you know that the government ALWAYS knows what is best for you?

I have not heard any reports about the turnout of protestors in Wash. today. That makes me think it wasn’t much. Anyone heard?
To: Former Military Chick
This reporting is pretty shoddy. Are they just disallowing Tea Party protesters, or have the Capitol police closed entrances to anyone trying to enter. And, there are fire concerns here. Even the Capitol building has a fire-rated capacity, and they do count everyone that leaves and enters.
This could be much ado about nothing.
To: Oldpuppymax
I think they are inside trying to make sure the Dems are not cheating. Someone should come out. This is BS. We paid and pay for that building.
Where is Juan McCain and Graham-nesty? In Mexico getting their payoff?

FWIW, I think it’s healthy for government to be a little afraid of its people.

That’s okay. Maybe the next time they’ll come back with what they should have brought in the first place.

GREAT PICTURE!!!
All we need to complete the Obama vision is the Military surrounding the Capital. After all, that's how they do it in Venezuela.
