As part of today's rally to stop the Democrats' health care reform legislation thousands of protesters descended on the lawn of Capitol building. But many more were also using the occasion to visit the their congressional representative and tell them what they think of the bill.
However, Capitol Police recently stopped allowing any of the peaceful protesters to enter into congressional buildings. Crowds are now gathering in front of the House and Senate offices, demanding that they be let in to air their constituent concerns.

“Well if they wont allow us in, perhaps we can keep them out tomorrow?”
Is someone blocking the back door? :)

From the timing, I bet it’s because that was when Obama visited House dems, and so the Secret Service ordered entry denied while he’s there. I would expect the same if Bush visited congress.

Tomorrow is a day of Worship. Let’s hold our worship services outside - right in front and around the House of Representatives.
We surround you.

Your Question: "I wonder the rationale for preventing entry?"
Answer: Fear.

Exactly why I say there isn’t a solid Conservative left in Washington. Those representatives don’t have a clue how righteous the efforts of these people are.
If these were Democrat protesters, you’d see a number of Democrat leaders out there fanning the flames. Our side? Crickets!
I am sooooo disgusted with the Republicans in Washington, D.C.

Sounds like they were trying to “petition the Government for a redress of grievances,” and were denied.

"All we need to complete the Obama vision is the Military surrounding the Capital. After all, that's how they do it in Venezuela."To tell you the truth, my sense now is that the ONLY way the country can survive and return to it's Constitution as a governing document, is to have the military to surround the Capitol, placing all the treasonous bastards within the perimeter under arrest, and re-populating the government with those who will HONOR, the "Preserve, Protect, and Defend the U.S. Constitution" part of the Oath of Office, which all the current occupants LIED about when taking that Oath......

It’s significantly less than 9/12, but still filled the front and side lawns. I’d guess 25K or 30K. Or use the formula: Whatever NBC says, add a zero for a better guess.

I had to put a DVR of Yo Gaba Gaba for my son as soon as that jacka$$, gutter slut Pelosi took to the podium. I almost threw a bottle at my own TV.
As God is my witness I have never been so angry at people in my life. The nerve of these ass-hats.

“I have not heard any reports about the turnout of protestors in Wash. today. That makes me think it wasnt much. Anyone heard?”
This article says thousands - so maybe 10,000? But think about all the protesting we’ve been doing...I appreciate everyone who went out there *again.*
