False hope, at least around my family. I am not silent in my extended household, but found yesterday that my kids, 35 and 32 had not the slightest notion, zilch, zero, of what is going on with health care and its implications.
Will we look like Mexico in a number o years?
China will have to get in line. Their total holdings of US debt is only just under $800 billion. Our deficit for this year alone is twice that. The austerity plan will be imposed by our government and it will dictate that no one gets health care (or Social Security, or Medicare) because there simply is no money to pay for it.
Provided we HAVE elections.
LOVE how it's priced for a "family" not for a "self" or "self and spouse." Hee haw! Hee haw! We Donks are Family Friendly!
“There is nothing left of the old Democrat party. They have been taken over by a bunch of left-wing, communist dirtbags.”
Well better late than never - they took over in the 80s as I recall when the old Communist Party USA was folded in.
highly doubt it
Republicans need to stop repeating all their talking points.
Make it clear, those voting for this bill clearly understand that the reconciliation bill will not be used to implement any fixes and the abortion EO is a fig leaf.
Call it like it is guys, make them take responsibility for what they’re really doing here!
Yup! :-)
Be careful what you scorn, for days will come you will ache to your heart oh that it was President McCain.
“The federal Govt regulates the rental and purchase of power driven wheelchairs”
Which is to say that every homeless bum in our town will get one to take him to the liquor store!
They’ve done that here: http://www.c-span.org/Watch/Media/2010/03/21/HP/R/30921/House+voting+on+rules+for+health+care+debate.aspx
First step??? Don’t allow them to call this socialism anymore because it is NOT. We need to call it what it is — COMMUNISM — the means of production held by the state. Centralized power in the Federal Gov’t. This can’t be labeled socialism in any form — THAT is how it got this far already. People don’t seem to realize that the liberals have CHANGED THE MEANING of these words. The professors in college have CHANGED the “working” definitions. What they are teaching young adults nowadays in regards to the difference between socialism and communism has no resemblance to what we grew up KNOWING.
“There are so many unintended consequences of this bill its not even funny.”
HAHAHa no such thing here as “unintended”.
Not to ‘woulda-coulda-shoulda’ here, but as soon as the dems started reading these BS weepy healthcare letters ad nauseum, our side should have produced twice as many sob stories from countries with nationalized healthcare. God knows there are plenty of examples. We needed :60 spot after spot showing you scary, tragic stories from Canada, UK, etc. True, gut-wrenching stuff. We never know how to fight fire with fire, dammit.
This makes me want to quit my job (advertising sales) and get into Political Ad Consulting. Channeling Lee Atwater....someone needs to have the stomach to hit back.
He bought them all
Am I good or what!? LOL.
That’s presuming that America follows the rule of law - the separation of powers and the balance of powers.
That’s so pre-Marxism.
Reminds me of the cop in Brooklyn who was forced to undergo psychological evaluation because he blew the whistle on police coercing people into not filing reports and on false reporting. The diagnosis was that he was sane but naive to think that cops should be ethical...
We’re way past that.
When will the Republicans get it? We are past the days when the rule of law meant anything. The day we chortled and called people “crazy” because they expected Obama to prove his eligibility we kissed those days good-bye. We’ve made this bed and unless we do something to reverse it, here we will lie, here we will die.
