“OVERHEARD: Walking into Capitol this morning on phone, Speaker Pelosi tells Hoyer: ‘Steny, we have to get to 217. None of these members wants to be the deciding vote’... Developing...”

Somehow I think the Speaker of the House was not "overheard" saying anything that she didn't want the public hear her say. I think this was "overheard" in a feeble attempt to add a measure of comfort to those who have been told they won't "be the deciding vote".

I posted this on another HC tread. Do anyone know if the below is still in the bill? This was in the AMENDMENT TO H.R. 3962 OFFERED BY MR. DINGELL OF MICHIGAN.
SEC. 2595. IMPROVEMENT OF VITAL STATISTICS COLLECTION. (a) IN GENERAL. - The Secretary of Health and Human Services (in this section referred to as the "Secretary"), acting through the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and in collaboration with appropriate agencies and States, shall -

(1) promote the education and training of physicians on the importance of birth and death certificate data and how to properly complete these documents in accordance with State law, including the collection of such data for diabetes and other chronic diseases as appropriate;

(2) encourage State adoption of the latest standard revisions of birth and death certificates; and

(3) work with States to re-engineer their vital statistics systems in order to provide cost-effective, timely, and accurate vital systems data.

(b) DEATH CERTIFICATE ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE. - In carrying out this section, the Secretary may promote improvements to the collection of diabetes mortality data, including, as appropriate, the addition by States of a question for the individual certifying the cause of death regarding whether the deceased had diabetes.

Think about it. Where is all of this going? Our medical records will be tagged (i.e. smokers, drinkers, AIDS, life-style, other chronic diseases, etc.)

But, but, but she had a double mastectomy. She wants us to have the quality of treatment she is afforded by the federal government.

(Do I need a sarcasm tag?)

He wouldn’t file if he didn’t think it was a legitimate case that Obamacare is against the Constitution. Landmark Legal goes by the law when filing cases.

Bill McCollum of FL and some other AG’s are set to also file cases so this is going to get interesting.

They are voting on this bill without a complete CBO report of costs. They are not following their own Rules established by the Democrats that all the Rules had to be in place the day before a vote. Rules Committee has been meeting all morning to determine rules.

This is being rammed through the so called pro-life Democrats have been nothing more then a distraction as they sell out for a worthless piece of paper from Obama. If they cannot see how bad this bill is not just with abortion but everything else then they need a big target on their back for defeat on Nov 2, 2010. Within the next month we should have all the figures of how much this is going to cost the average tax payer to hang around Stupak and the rest of their necks.

Defeat every Democrat who voted for Pelosi that now claims to to stand up against healthcare because what they are doing on other votes is going liberal. All you have to do is check out their voting records at http://67.20.95.56/ratings/ratingsarchive/2009/2009%20Combined%20Ratings.html#MS to see how they voted throughout last year and this year so far. Gene Taylor of MS is a prime example of someone who has gone left on votes since Pelosi took over — first year pretty much stayed the same — has a liftime 65 but in 2008 he went down to 24 and now he is only at 56 for this year.

My brain is being pushed-pulled in so many ways.
I try to keep in mind the disinformation/propoganda campaign when reading about Stupak being close to a deal, but then I remeber he is a dem.

Your party is screwing two miilion+ people out of a vote, Pelosi.

With those 4 vacant House seats, you'd better come up with 4 more yes votes.

Went to Landmark Legal and right now all they have is a lawsuit for the Slaughter Rule which they are not using.

State AG’s are basing theirs on mandates to their state which are constitutional. Will do some more checking.

No you don’t need a sarcasm tag. This Wasserman-Schulz wench is the biggest piece of human debris ever created right under Pelosi and the Dirtbag-in-Chief. This woman is a disgrace to the female of the species. She is a crap container for the Democrat Party. She sells her soul to tow the democrat line. Have I made the point of how I feel?

I loathe these people. I will do anything to defeat them in November. But before that we have to figure out how we get out from under this unconstitutional law. I am sick to my stomach. Haven’t slept well in days. Praying, calling and they don’t listen.

Back from Mass and yes my priest did mention the Bishop’s letter - then went on to tell us how important social justice is, how important it is to provide health care for all, how we need to overhaul our system while protecting life.

Ok, I admit it, for the first time in my life I almost walked out in the middle. Sigh

I’m lurking, getting a snack and have to help hubby for a bit and I’m going to lie down for an hour - I see they are pushing the vote back and if not, does it matter if I sleep through? Either way our country is no longer ours until we rid ourselves of these traitors.

Be back in a bit...

Good grief! WTH is she talkin about? Number 216 WILL BE the deciding vote, no matter how many come after that.

Imbecile.
