Back from Mass and yes my priest did mention the Bishop’s letter - then went on to tell us how important social justice is, how important it is to provide health care for all, how we need to overhaul our system while protecting life.
Ok, I admit it, for the first time in my life I almost walked out in the middle. Sigh
I’m lurking, getting a snack and have to help hubby for a bit and I’m going to lie down for an hour - I see they are pushing the vote back and if not, does it matter if I sleep through? Either way our country is no longer ours until we rid ourselves of these traitors.
Be back in a bit...
Glad you’re back- I’m going for a nap too- it was an impossible night to get any real sleep..
Thanks for report from mass..
Oh Brytani - that must have been awful. I would have been tempted to walk out too.
Thanks, dear Brytani and welcome “home” (here) too.
Sounds like a great plan for the day - our special intentions included praying for those people “..who fight to keep the planet clean and pure and green...” - I KNOW the people in front of me could hear my groan!
" The Bible is very clear in what it says about the proper way for Christians to pray, stating in the Gospel of Matthew chapter 6, verses 5-6,
When thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
The message is clear: if you claim to follow Jesus you ought to pray in secret, avoiding ostentatious displays of prayer intended to serve as a display of holier-than-thou pride before others.
Most Christians seem either to be ignorant or to just not care about the message of these Biblical verses, contradicting the instructions of their own divine savior in order to satisfy their own egotistical religious identities."
So, if we can't rely on our Church to lead our Souls to Heaven, then we shouldn't be going to THAT particular church at all. They are not doing the Will of God.

You should have done a “Joe Wilson.”
(Sorry if I offend anyone)
