Obamacare Hits Middle Class Hard, Pricing Them Out of Insurance

While President Barack Obama emphasizes that its the wealthy who will help finance his healthcare reform, the middle class would get socked pretty hard too, says Scott Gottlieb, a physician and resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute.
Health reform will leave many of them newly priced out of a transformed market for health insurance, he says.
The hardest hit won't be those earning more than $250,000 a year the group that he (Obama) says needs to pay their fair share," Gottlieb says.
Rather, it's families whose combined annual income is around $100,000 who could be crushed under this plan, he wrote in a recent New York Post opinion piece.
People at that income level make too much too qualify for subsidies under the Democrats reform plan, but probably too little to easily afford the expensive insurance that the plan requires them to buy, Gottlieb argues.
Many families who earn about $100,000 a year will have to purchase a policy costing an average of $14,700 for the mid-level, "silver" health plan, according to the Congressional Budget Office's estimates, he writes.

P!
$14K for health insurance? Are you freaking kidding me? What the hell does that cover? ambulances for hang nails?
How could health insurance cost that much?
If they say I have to pay that much for health care, I say screw your rationed care. I’m going to prison to get it for FREE!

Wow
Got an extra $10,000 lying around everyone ?????????
But, but, according to Pelosi, some other Deemtards, Jack Squat Barry, and his public idiot and clueless advocates, we are going to not worry about the raising of taxes on us or anything once we see how wonderful the other benefits *cough*BS*cough* are in store for us courtesy of ObamaCare.....we will be jumping for joy in happiness..../s
It's a tax, alright.
But the health care received will be the same as those on the dole, poor. If you make it past the death panel.

I keep seeing these figures on policy cost and wonder if this is for a family plan or 2 individuals. If there are 4 of us are they assuming that is what it will cost annually? So many unanswered questions, so many idiotic platitudes.
It will cost about 6 grand a year for the government option a year for singles.
So that other groups might pay nothing at all, or have their health care heavily subsidized so they pay very little.
It's Marxist wealth redistribution, pure and simple.
When he destroys the middle class - he will have no resistance.
Just take the 2,200.00 fine then when you need it you buy it. Use their program against them, the pre-existing rule will be their downfall. Who in their right mind would pay the $14K for insurance when you can pay your premium only after you get sick?
So who has the gold plated heath plan?
And who gets the bronze?
I am single and I pay about $2K per year for health insurance. If you are a single young man and can’t get affordable health insurance on the open market, you are stupid and/or you shouldn’t have gotten that STD.
The income redistribution goes from young healthy men to those who are not young healthy men.
Many great articles exposing the fraud of ObamaCare have been coming out recently.
Sadly, they are all published by sources read only by us.
There are so many of the ignorant 35% in favor of this monstrosity that are going to lose their current (and pretty damn good) health care and pay through the nose with tax increases, who think ObamaCare is manna from Heaven.
Nobody has done more to brainwash the citizenry than the MSM, except maybe the public education system.
“Cleaning House” and one-third the Senate in November won’t be nearly enough. The entire society is poisened.
Maybe the young health men should leave.
My wife and I pay $1360/month now for ours, and that’s with a $5K deductable (per person). But... at least I can use it pretty much anywhere.
The money doesn’t pay for health care. It goes into a Rat slush fund for other communist projects.
The income redistribution goes from young healthy men with a job and family to those on the dole.

What do you say to the unemployed 22 yr old Electrician’s Assistant who graduated from HS but can’t get a job because of the recession and can’t afford healthcare?
