This could be very big. Rep. Jason Altmire (D., Penn.) has done his darndest to position himself as the deciding vote on health-care reform, and I predicted earlier this week that he would end up voting with the majority either way.
Congressman Jason Altmire will vote against the latest version of health care reform when the U.S. House of Representatives votes on the bill this weekend.
Altmire confirmed that he has decided to vote no in a telephone conversation with KDKA political editor Jon Delano.
The McCandless Democrat is expected to post a statement on his website later today.
In a live interview on KDKA-TV News at 6 on Tuesday, Altmire said his constituents would help him make the final decision.
"I'm deciding it by doing everything I possibly can to hear what they have to say," he said. "The rallies at my office, the phone calls, emails, and letters that are coming in to Washington and in the district."
Altmire voted against the House health care plan last November.
But again, who knows!
We know how fast it can change.
...after all, he is a DemocRAT.
Take any victory we can get, ping!
This isn’t a switch vote. He voted no the last time.
WOW I hope this is true..everyone should call his office to confirm this and if this is the case, thank him. I don’t care if he is a Dem, we need all the help we can get right now. Pelosi is going to try to pressure him tomorrow to vote yes so we have to all call him and tell him to stand firm
I am not counting any chickens until the hatch. The thugs will do their darndest to get this through.
If he is your congressman, write, call, or fax and thank him!
I think he deserves an attaboy and some re-enforcement:

He’s one I had on undecided. I think the Republicans needed 38 Democrats to vote “no” to crush the bill — and he may be the 38th confirmed “no”.
SnakeDoc
I thought he would go yes in the end- this is a very welcome surprise.
For now on they need to flip no votes.
He can have an attaboy AFTER he votes no. Right now, it’s still just a promise.
Pelosi released him to vote "no" because she has the votes.
We'll see. Either way, the fight goes on.
But Corner post has been updated. Boyd flipped from NO to YES
Could also be that Altmire sees the writing on the wall with the Stupak gang holding out and sees political advantage to voting no and being on the right side.
Call and thank him!
Especially if you’re in his district! Don’t let him be swindled!
But again, who knows! Rep. Allen Boyd (D., Fla.) has just gone no-to-yes! And he's co-chair of the Blue Dogs!
In any event I am looking up his number so I might thank him.
Keep the calls up. It’s working.
