This could be very big. Rep. Jason Altmire (D., Penn.) has done his darndest to position himself as the deciding vote on health-care reform, and I predicted earlier this week that he would end up voting with the majority either way.
Congressman Jason Altmire will vote against the latest version of health care reform when the U.S. House of Representatives votes on the bill this weekend.
Altmire confirmed that he has decided to vote no in a telephone conversation with KDKA political editor Jon Delano.
The McCandless Democrat is expected to post a statement on his website later today.
In a live interview on KDKA-TV News at 6 on Tuesday, Altmire said his constituents would help him make the final decision.
"I'm deciding it by doing everything I possibly can to hear what they have to say," he said. "The rallies at my office, the phone calls, emails, and letters that are coming in to Washington and in the district."
Altmire voted against the House health care plan last November.
But again, who knows!
If he posts his decision then it's a lock . . . unless he wants to commit political suicide.
This is huge.
All roads are pointing to Stupak and the markers he holds.

Tried to call but was told his voicemail is full and I could not leave a message. Think I’ll try writing even though I am not one of his constituents.
Maybe the left already HAS the votes and a select few dems who expect tough re-election races are being permitted to vote no so as to scam their constituents!!! Happens ALL the time!!! Could be why so many have suddenly come out as NO votes over the past couple of days. HOWEVER, I don’t think this will help them in November. Not if their republican opponent is smart and plays it well.

I don’t mean to be the turd in the punch bowl, but it seems to me that Nancy has the votes and is starting to tell certain Dems that it is ok to go public with a “no” vote.

I just sent an email to him. I’m in a District south of him, but thanked him nonetheless, for standing up for his the will of the people.
thehill.com counts 36 “no” votes, they say the Dems can only afford a max of 37 defections, Altmire and DeFazio are listed as “undecideds” in their whip count, so according to their own numbers we now have 38 “no” votes. Let’s keep going!!!
Don’t let up. Who knows whether he’ll buckle under pressure from Pelosi at the last minute.
I think that is why Giffords (AZ 8) hasn’t make her decision public...she’s hoping the rats will have enough votes for her to get a pass. Otherwise, she votes for Obamacare.
Excellent news......however, can we consider that perhaps Pelosi gave him a free pass since she has the votes in hand? Or is this whole thing still up in the air?

Lots of seniors in his district use Medicare Advantage, which Obama wants to eviscerate because people using the program are not under as much direct control by government employees.

Yes, we are making a difference, but please, lets not forget the many, many prayers asking for God's help to stop this HC madness. I am not of the belief God has washed HIS hands of the USA yet.
