Democrats are planning to introduce legislation later this spring that would permanently repeal annual Medicare cuts to doctors, but are warning lawmakers not to talk about it for fear that it will complicate their push to pass comprehensive health reform. The plans undercut the party's message that reform lowers the deficit, according to a memo obtained by POLITICO.
Democrats removed the so-called doc fix from the reform legislation last year because its $371-billion price tag would have made it impossible for Democrats to claim that their bill reduces the deficit. Republicans have argued for months that by stripping the doc fix from the bill, Democrats were playing a shell game.
âMost health staff are already aware that our health proposal does not contain a 'doc fix.' ⦠The inclusion of a full SGR repeal would undermine reformâs budget neutrality. So again, do not allow yourself (or your boss) to get into a discussion of the details of CBO scores and textual narrative. Instead, focus only on the deficit reduction and number of Americans covered,â the memo, sent Thursday to Democratic staff, said

HAH! It’s on my hard drive.
I just read somewhere they are having the vote on Sunday if t fails, it fails.
I think that they realize the games they are playing, always moving the goal line to a date or changing the rules to get this passed is looking more and more like an oligarchy to the average american.
Obama’s numbers are dropping and he is putting off all business to strong arm people. If he cant get it done now, he can’t get it done and it is the end game.
LOL!
Cold... for now.
Yup, it's their call. . .
For people who have insurance: Is the health care denial going to start immediately contain cost?
I was ticked off at Greta for giving her so much face time and letting her spin. Greta seemed to be agreeing with her through most of it.
Trillion is the new billion.
How can one branch of gov order another one to do anything. They should give him rasberries.
It is just a cloward pivens scheme to make the whole thing collapse anyway, ushering in a new era of single payor.
This evening, Governor Rick Perry conducted a telephone town hall meeting.
Our residence was one of the ones chosen to participate with questions re; Obamacare.
My father took the call, and he said that Perry indicated that no way in h*ll was Texas going to be screwed over with Obamacare.
He said that Perry said that the first order of business for the next 72 hours was to go to the governor's site, get a list of representative and call. http://www.rickperry.org/

The time has come to express your rights and remind the federal government that it was created to serve the states and the people, not the other way around. We must stop the government takeover of our healthcare system. One-size-fits-all mandates from Washington will not fix our healthcare industry, which needs tort reform as a start to bringing down costs.
Today, we are asking you to call these Texas representatives and ask tell them to vote "NO" on Obamacare. Together, let's make Washington listen to what the people actually want.

Texas Metros Continue to Show Strong Economic Indicators Wed, 03/17/2010 -
Governor Perry continues to keep focus on the Texas economy as the most important issue facing our state. With record job creation, low taxes, sweeping tort reform, and the most business-friendly environment in the nation, it's clear that fiscal discipline under Gov. Perry is keeping Texas as an economic driver leading the nation out of recession.
The Brookings Institution today released its quarterly report on the nation's 100 largest metropolitan areas. The overall performance rankings are based on indicators like unemployment rates, housing markets, and gross metropolitan product.
The problem is that the old Congress will be there until January 2011 when the new Congress takes over. That means from November through December 2010, the old Congress can do whatever they want. Unless I’m mistaken, people are forgetting that after the election the old Congress can still vote on bills until the new Congress takes effect.

What a shock!
Anyone who thought they wouldn’t do this, raise your hands!
You would be living in a dream world!
What Ding Dong Daddy posted is the ONLY important point.
The Dems tried to play a game taking the cost of the “ doc fix” out of the bill so they could presto chango , show a reduction in deficit.
having a memo or not having a memo isn’t important/ The figure is 371 billion and has been oublic knowledge forawhile
What IS imporant it reminding or education the people that there is an extra 371 BILLION cost that should be part of this obamanation.
The people should also be told how much the state will have to pay and their state can’t print money so guess who will pay?
So they are saying they are NOT going to pass the doc fix and the docs are going to get big paycuts and quit medicare in droves? That's what they're saying???
Seems to me, either way, that it is out there being talked about is a good thing.

“Democratic leadership has challenged the authenticity of the memo. POLITICO has removed the memo and the details about it until we can absolutely verify the documentâs origin.”
Sure and that will take them at least until AFTER the vote. Afterwards they can ‘rediscover’ that the memo IS genuine and it won’t matter.
