Carol Shea-Porter's vote as of 9:30 am March 19
Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter D-1 NH ^ | March 19, 2010 | GOPPHOENIX

Posted on 03/19/2010 6:55:00 AM PDT by gopphoenix

I called her office this morning, identified myself by name as a constituent and politely asked what her vote would be. Here is the verbatim response:

"I do not have that information at this time."

I am so mad I could spit!

THIS is what qualifies as leadership and representation in the modern Democrat Party.

If this goes through via "Deem and Pass" - revolution!

Obama spent last week campaigning for health care reform, at one point getting some college-age fans worked up about all the free stuff — “free” preventive care and “free” checkups and so forth — they would receive if his version of health care reform passed.

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.) http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9925/12-18-HealthOptions.pdf

The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

And here are toll-free numbers we can use to call any Senators or Reps.

At the first number below you must wait through a tape recording urging you to tell your Rep or Senator to vote “yes” for the health care bill. Just hang on and when the recording is over, you will get the Capitol operator. Just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Then you will either talk to an aid or have the chance to leave a message for him/her to vote NO on the health care bill.

When you use the second number and the Capitol operator comes on, just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Every time I use this number I get the Rep or Senator’s answer machine, so it may be set up that way all the time...to go to their answer machine. Either way you can leave a message to vote NO on the health care bill!

We need to use these toll free numbers that have been set up for the health care/ BO supporters and illegals to use! After all they are FREE!

There is no possibility - none at all - that Che-Porter will vote "nay" or "present" on Sunday.

I don't care what she says, or what anyone in her office says, or what anybody's whip count says.

She's a definite "yea".

I have to say, if the oldsters suddenly woke up today and deluged the hill this thing would NOT pass. No how, no way.

That's how much fear their wrath evokes...even with the pinkos.

I wish they'd click the ruby slippers together already...

As a fellow District 1 constituent, I thought I would post my experience with the office. I have made numerous calls over the past two weeks. She has refused to take a stand on any aspect of the process. Her aides will try and confuse the process by trying to explain that she is waiting to see the final bill, etc. When asked directly whether or not she supports the Senate bill as is, they simply will not give an answer. I did get into a good give and take with an aide the day that the whole “deem and pass” issue was first put out there. He basically said that she was “hoping” that this is the way that it would be done because she has “concerns” about the Senate bill. When confronted with the fact that a vote to deem and pass would be in fact a vote in favor of the Senate bill, he stammered before saying that he certainly sees that many people will view it that way.

What’s amazing to me is how the local news outlets have let her go all this time without really reporting about the lengths to which she is going to avoid taking a position. I called the Union Leader newsroom the night before there story about neither Hodes or Shea-Porter taking a position and the guy who answered told me I wasn’t the first caller requesting that they turn up the heat. You would think Channel 9 would be going live from her office with interviews with staffers. I don’t understand why they aren’t. The fact of the matter is that she is obviously going to support the bill’s passage by any means necessary. It’s just that simple. The reason that she isn’t making her position known is to avoid even more calls and people holding signs at all of her offices. She has been a consistent vote for Pelosi and even had her come to Boston, not NH but Boston, to put on a fundraiser a few weeks ago. You know what they say about the hand that feeds you...

I don’t disagree with you BUT - what the hell does she gain by holding out like this? Her web page has NOTHING on this. Her Facebook page status mentions a corned beef dinner.

Does she really think that this strategy helps her against Guinta? Who the heck is advising her? Does she really believe that Pelosi can save her?

I think this “undecided” crap just makes people angrier. It’s an insult to her constituents intelligence.

I posted on her FB page that if she votes “Yes” on this or Deem, she should just concede the race immediately and save everyone time, effort, and money.

At least you received some kind of response. My local congressman won’t answer emails or the telephone. Most of the others I tried to call didn’t respond or they let the phone ring or go into a “full” voice mail. Yes, I know these congresspeople are getting an earful from the citizens, but some of them I suspect just simply disconnected the phone or are ignoring the emails. That’s fine. When they run for office again, I will be sure to ignore them. I’m not going to forget.

Guess she doesn’t want to incriminate herself. She may not want to know what’s in the bill since the Obamalosi requires they accept it. The Slaughter method is like the Dems taking the Fifth to vote.

People come up from Massachusetts to vote for this vile piece of humanity...her arrogance was on full display at a town hall meeting months ago; she treated some of the 'Tea Party' people in attendance with utter contempt.

Frank Guinta is going to beat her like a drum in November; regardless of how she votes. That's why she is a "yes"...she has NOTHING to lose.
