Motorists are paying the highest prices for gas since October 2008. Retail gasoline prices rose on Thursday on an expected increase in demand and as more expensive spring and summer blends of gasoline make their way to the pumps.
The nationwide average hit $2.799 per gallon, a penny higher than Wednesday, according to AAA, Wright Express and Oil Price Information Service.
Prices have now jumped 18.9 cents in the past month and are 87.9 cents higher than year-ago levels. Back on Oct. 23, 2008 prices averaged $2.8215 per gallon.

yes and my husband told me they expect it to go to $7.00 a gallon.
What say won’t have to worry about house and gas chick

Once the maoist stated that there would be NO drilling while he was president it was permission for OPEC to raise their prices by curtailing the supply.
Of course it is. The chosen one can do no wrong. He was born on a cloud and carried to earth on a unicorn! How can you argue with that? We are simply foolish to think it could be bam’s fault.
Exactly! It’s Obama’s “oil buddies” who are going to make a killing.
Bush started two endless land wars in Asia.
Fluctuation of gasoline prices are a non-story, just like dog-bites-man.
For what it’s worth, I filled up today at a Mobil station just inside the CT state line off Interstate 84. Premium was $2.999/gal — regular must have been about 20 cents less. During my drive, I saw (premium) gasoline selling anywhere from $2.93 to $3.35 a gallon.
I tend to rely less on news reports (like the captioned AP story) than my own observations these days. The next best thing is a website that notes gasoline prices http://www.connecticutgasprices.com/index.aspx
After $4.00 a gallon $2.80 doesn’t hurt. And unfortunately everyone knows it so can raise taxes and/or prices without too much difficulty.
correction ... make that just over the CT line (in Massachusetts)
yes and my husband told me they expect it to go to $7.00 a gallon.
Actually That's how much the liberals want us to pay in tax on Gas above and beyond the actual cost.
Actually, that is just the taxes on top of the cost of gas!
