I agree it is hard to maintain civility with these people. I’m so angry with them. My youngest is having a b-day party on Sunday, and the Dem In Laws are coming over, fil, mil, bil, and sil. Ugh..of course this healthcare bs will be the topic.
I just got divorced because emy ex wife’s family and herself were such evil liberal scum I couldn’t take it anymore. F them my son will learn what freedom is despite what is happening now.
And of course they’ll tell you the opposition is because of the “Republican lies” and yet they’ll believe everything the Democrats have claimed.
End it now. Tell everyone there will be no talk of politics, religion or anthing else that is divisive. Say it before everyone comes and if they don’t like it they dont’ have to come to your house.
A child's birthday party is no place for political discussion/argument. Lay down the law ahead of time, and if someone can't agree, they can wish the child a Happy Birthday on the phone and be done with it. Don't be timid about enforcing the rule during the party, as well. You may have to remind people, but be firm. Good luck!
It’s YOUR houses
It’s YOUR son’s birthday
Announce loud and clear: “There will be NO politics spoken in this house today - NOT ONE WORD. Today is my son’s day. It’s about him - and him alone.”
