To: Lets Be Frank; cubreporter
I agree with cubreporter: "Tell everyone there will be no talk of politics, religion or anthing else that is divisive. Say it before everyone comes and if they don’t like it they dont’ have to come to your house."

A child's birthday party is no place for political discussion/argument. Lay down the law ahead of time, and if someone can't agree, they can wish the child a Happy Birthday on the phone and be done with it. Don't be timid about enforcing the rule during the party, as well. You may have to remind people, but be firm. Good luck!
