The pretending has got to stop. I've HAD IT with every single Liberal/Democrat in my life. I don't care if you're an Aunt, Cousin, neighbor or a life-long friend. I don't care that we go to the same church, coach my son's basketball or if we have kids that hang out together.
There's no longer room in my life for you or anyone who would associate themselves with those who are purposefully dismantling the country my children will have to live in.
I'm ready to post to Facebook that what's going on in our Government in broad daylight should bring nothing but SHAME and DISGUST to anyone with a lick of sense. And if you voted for Øbama or any of the Congressional crotch-fruit who is breaching the oath they took to uphold the U.S. Constitution, you can go straight to HELL! Un-friend me now.
To overtly disenfranchise the 2/3rds of us who can see the corrupt action this week as the Coup d'état that is is unconscionable. Not to mention the rest of the SOCIALIST ECONOMIC BULLSHIT they've shoved down our throats this past year.
I'm drawing a line. You're on my side or theirs. No more co-existence. Your complacency with this destruction is great. It's on your head. You might as well just drop trou, squat and dump a steaming pile on the collective graves of every American who fought to preserve freedom in this country.
“I should shun all you anti-obama folks for coming to the fight so DAMN late”
What you talkin’ bout Willis? This lady ain’t late. In fact I’ve been an active, outspoken conservative my entire life. In high school I used to play tapes of Reagan’s speeches to my friends-they thought I was crazy. My first political letter to the editor was published when I was 18. In College I worked for a conservative Think Tank. Early in my career I started giving money to local candidates, national candidates, the RNC, etc. I repeatedly donated to the Lazio campaign, Swift Boat Veterans and Scott Brown - just to name a few. I was a “Broken Glass Republican” so passionate for the cause that I flew by myself to DC to get a glimpse of W’s 1st Inauguration. I waited 12 hours in line to see Reagan’s casket. I’m not afraid to put a sign in my yard or a sticker on my car — even when I lived in ultra-liberal Venice, CA — and I wrote letters, donated money, and barked at the moon about the evils of Obama right up to election day. And you better believe I’ll be going back to DC the day that treasonous bastard moves out of the White House. In fact I’ll take a seat across the street and watch the moving vans to make sure they don’t steal our national treasures.
This is just the first time I have felt this way even about my friends, and you are right they probably don’t realize the evil behind their politics.
But had to set the record straight! I’ve been right there with you in the trenches (didn’t you see me in the fashionable fatigues?)!!
Keep on keepin’ on!
I saw that exact thing at our homeschool co-op.
Any "dialog" with a liberal is a total waste of time. You might as well go discuss politics at the local sanitarium.
I did that years ago. It’s now time to collapse the socialist economy. Curb all non-critical spending. Let’s see how long they can prop it up. In the meantime we save, stockpile, get wealthier in dollar amount and our ability to withstand any calamity.
It’s basically “leeches” versus productive members of society. There is no common ground.
NO crying, stiff upper lip, like Churchill.
About when would you say did the great division start taking place?
This thread has been very cathartic and has brought some family issues into focus.
A few years ago I rented a beach house with my brother, sisters, spouses, everyone’s children and my parents. There were enough bedrooms for each family (parents and their kids) to have a bedroom and bathroom. One brother and sister decided that their kids (my neices and nephews) needed their own bedroom and railroaded my oldest sister into sleeping on the pull-out sofa (she’d just had back surgery to boot) in the downstairs TV room with no bathroom - they knew she wouldn’t argue. They gave me a nice room with a balcony hoping I would keep quiet. A nasty argument ensued and we left the beach mid-week. We are civil now, but not close.
For years I have pondered how my own flesh and blood, brother and sister who were brought up in the same household as me, could be so coniving, arrogant and self-absorbed. (As you can imagine, there have been several similar instances but this was the worst.)
Seeing the posts about family have really helped me understand what I am actually dealing with. They don’t really talk about politics and I really don’t think any of them actually has a clue about what’s happening to our country - they’re too self-absorbed. But this is so clearly the mentality of the left.
What is worse, a lefty who has opinions but are wrong or a “christian” who will employ leftist tactics to get what they want but otherwise can’t be bothered to care about what’s happening to our country?
I’m feeling less guilty about being so alienated from my brothers, sisters, neices and nephews. Wrong is wrong and shouldn’t be rationalized, minimized or excused - it’s been our willingness to do all that that’s got us where we are today.
Thanks TruthHound and everyone that’s posted a comment - it’s been very healing and affirming.
Her new Husband is a Liberal, Prius Driving Envirowack with a PHD. He hates Republicans, especially Southern Republicans, because he thinks they are all Dixiecrats that switched Parties. In other words, we are a bunch of Racists.
Whenever we used to have Political discussions, he used the usual Lib talking points. When I presented facts, such as increased Tax Revenues when Income Tax Rates were reduced, he refused to acknowledge it.
When he questioned my information, I told him “Google is your friend”, which he didn't appreciate. I have long given up on discussing anything with him. Unfortunately, his Wife has joined the Libtard ranks.
I talk to them once in a Blue Moon, which is a shame because my SIL and I were very close, especially when her Late Husband, my best friend at the time, got Cancer.
Facts mean nothing to the poisoned Liberal mindset, it's that simple. Their reality is their own.
“Look at the poll numbers against Bummercare. Half the liberals hate it.”
Sure, but an awful lot of them hate it because it doesn’t go far enough for them! They want “free” health care and they want the gubmint to make the evil rich and evil corporations pay for it.
Yes, I do now understand it. How I wish it had not come to this.
God help us.

LIBs...really, who needs ‘em? Really. Life is too short to play their sick game of denial and obfuscation.
"I would like to associate myself with the gentleman's remarks."
I'm not hiding anywhere, FRiend. If you want to meet me somewhere, all you have to do is ask. FReepmail is ready when you are.
And I'd familiarize myself with the posting guidelines if I were you. I'm not going to hit the Abuse button (only pansies do that), but the Mods will eventually banhammer you if you keep up with that ad hominem jazz.
Well said.
The thought, and verbiage is really paraphrasing Ayn Rand or Frederic Bastiat, darlings of the left and right. (/sarc)
“Any “dialog” with a liberal is a waste of time.”
You are forgetting that many conservatives are former liberals.
Absolutely.
