Socialism has bankrupted and failed every society, while capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty than any other system.

There is no perfect society. There are no perfect people. Critics say that greed is the driving force of capitalism. My answer is that envy is the driving force of socialism. Change to socialism is not an improvement on the imperfections of the current system.

In the 1990s, one of the cheif arguments against impeachment of Bill Clinton was that it would hurt the stock market. And then the internet stock bubble burst anyway and hurt the market.

And any leftist that reads it will ignore the lessons with the thought “we’ll do it right, here”.

I always answer that “greed” accusation with

“which is more greedy, wanting to keep what you earned, or wanting to confiscate what someone else has earned?”

Yes! They keep forgetting that the communists, the career politicians, the unions, and the gov’t bureaucrats are 100 times GREEDIER in their demands for our hard-earned money and wealth. They are viciously greedy!

Some years past, my friend visited the USSR. His cabbie said: “I will be outside your hotel daily until you leave and take you wherever you want. You don't have to pay me. But, before you leave, just go to the ‘western’ store and I will give you a list of the things I want.”

Apparently, average Ivan's could not shop except at the state run stores and the best goods were available only to visitors and state officials. Nice.

That is exactly right...so long as there is human nature, will will never be a perfect system. The entire population would need to be programmed robots for any system to be perfect.

But, of all the possible types of governmental systems every created, communism/socialism are the absolute worst.

These systems operate like giant labor unions, only those at the top prosper...the "union bosses", while the rank and file have absolute equality...in being poor and powerless.

After 64 years of observation, it occurs to me that the people who are the unhappiest with capitalism, are those too lazy to get off their asses and takes advantage of the opportunity it offers.

Looking around, the only ones I see that are supporting socialism and communism, are those who sit with their hands out wanting to suck off the government teat from cradle to grave.

Able bodied citizens should be told, "get off your ass, or starve". A bit harse, yes, but you'd be totally surprised at how many would get off their asses if they were told that.

Capitalism is the only system in which the people have a stake in their own fate. And, a government which stays out of micro-managing commerce, and keeps taxes and regulations that are pro-business, are enabling an economy to create jobs, creating prosperity for us all. THAT is the meaning of "promoting the General Welfare", and NOT passing obamacare.

Socialism/communism are totalitarian dictatorships...you, the people, don't matter in those systems.

Businessese and consumers makes everyone a vital part of the system, as you can't have one without the other...a fact that completely escapes obamabot progressives. They think that if they need money, the government just has to go and print it. This also illustrates the stupidity of those who promote socialism, and the ones who buy into it.

We've been versed on the horrors of communism all our lives, and we only have to look at the shape Europe is in to see that socialism doesn't work either...so why are we headed down that slippery slope?

I have found that any leftist who claims to be a Christian eventually has to deny the divine authority of the bible,

because there is nothing that justifies their ideology, moreover, the truth of the bible is in diametric opposition to their ideology.

What no one asks about communism... if communism is so grand, why do people get punished for wanting to leave? Hell, why would they want to leave anyway?

Nothing in the Bible says we should look to the government to see that our needs are met.

God sets before us a bounty we are to be thankful for.

Ted Kennedy railed against the notion of medical savings accounts and an end to the estate tax.

By the way, how much money was paid in taxes from Fat Ted’s estate?

They answer that way because they think they can have the ideals of communism/socialism with the freedom of America and the constitution. They are too ignorant to understand that one cannot exist along side of the other.
