NBC poll: 17% approve of Congress
ms DNC ^ | 3/16/10 | Mark Murray

If Americans are divided about how their congressman should vote on the health-care bill, the same can't be said for their views on Congress.

According to the new NBC/WSJ poll, whose full results will be released beginning at 6:30 pm ET, only 17% approve of Congress' job.

What's more, given the opportunity, half (50%) say they would vote to defeat every single member of Congress, including their own representative.

But note that ms-DNC does its best to spin this as the public hating “both sides.” See, its really not the Dems dictatorial power grab and shoving the country toward Communism that is at issue—its the public’s disgust with “partisan bickering” by “both sides” or whatever other spin ms-DNC can provide.

One of my 2010 predictions was that their approval rating would be in single digits by the end of the year. Not too far to go...

Well, yes. 17% approve of Congress as a whole, but 51% approve of their own Representative...so nothing changes.

Indeed. Can't work, though, because the numbers are simply against them - there are just too many fascists, I mean democrats, in Congress for this poll to be anything but a clear repudiation of the fascists, I mean democrats.

I remember seeing an article about the results of a survey taken about profession reputability. Of the 25 professions surveyed used car salesmen were at the bottom of the list at number 25. At the number 24 spot were politicians.

It looks like politicians just might be number 25 now - bottom of the barrel, baby!

I can’t say I’m surprised, though I think single digits could occur before November. Count me in the group that is for voting out his sitting member of Congress, then again, I’ve always been clearer about what I’m against than what I’m for, particularly when it comes to government.

I would think 17% is a number MSNBC can only dream about, however.

NBC’s parent company G.E. probably has this poll jacked up. I don’t believe it’s this high. My guess is some where between 5 to 10%.
