EPA Replaces We The People
Investor's Business Daily ^ | March 16, 2010 | IBD editorial staff

Regulation: The New York Times says the EPA should use its authority to regulate our very breath if a Democratic Congress isn't "goaded" into action. Whatever happened to government of the people?

It's been a pattern of this administration that if the American people are adamantly opposed to it, ram it through anyway. So it's been with the health care overhaul, offshore drilling restrictions and now the Environmental Protection Agency threatening to become the uber-regulator of the air we breathe. (snip)

As Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., ranking Republican on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, noted: "Lisa Jackson, Obama's EPA administrator, admitted to me publicly that EPA based its action today (issuing its finding) in good measure on the findings of the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, or IPCC. She told me that EPA accepted those findings without any serious, independent analysis to see whether they were true."

Remember under Clinton where the EPA wanted to be the most feared agency in the government? Where a phone call would scare the business like a call from the IRS.

Look who is running it: Administrator Lisa P. Jackson

Jackson is the first African-American to serve as EPA Administrator. She has made it a priority to focus on vulnerable groups including children, the elderly, and low-income communities that are particularly susceptible to environmental and health threats. In addressing these and other issues, she has promised all stakeholders a place at the decision-making table.

Before becoming EPA’s Administrator, Jackson served as Chief of Staff to New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine and Commissioner of the state’s Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Prior to joining DEP, she worked for 16 years as an employee of the U.S. EPA.

An unelected beauracracy given almost limitless power. What could go wrong?

Zip-zip-zip up the ladder. Affirmative-action Afrobabe, or maybe an FOH. Remember the "change agents" and their secret-squirrel ethnic/gender-baiting rings the Clintons organized inside the Civil Service? And their Hillaryite chant of "too pale, too male, too stale"?

The idea was to form political rings inside Civil Service (violating the Hatch Act in plain sight) that would become caltrops and land mines for any Republican administrations that might be elected, and within the service would work together to conspire against and push aside better-qualified or senior white male Civil Service employees.
