Specter Opens Door on White House Felonies(Can this be what brings down Zer0 and his pals?)
american spectator ^ | 3/16/10 | jeffrey lord

Posted on 03/16/2010 5:17:46 AM PDT by bestintxas

"There's a crime called misprision of a felony. Misprision of a felony is when you don't report a crime. So you're getting into pretty deep areas here in these considerations." -- U.S. Senator Arlen Specter on March 12, 2010

"Right now, they're doing the 'I won't confirm or deny,' and for us, it leaves two possibilities. One is the promise of transparency in this administration is just shot. The second one is even worse, which is either Sestak is lying or the administration has done something wrong and is covering it up…" -- U.S. Congressman Darryl Issa on Friday on March 12, 2010

"The 'stonewall strategy' functioned from the very first episodes of the cover-up. It was instinctive, from the very top of the Administration to the bottom. It was also ad hoc, developed in small reactions to the flurry of each day's events…we found ourselves trying to hold a line where we could." -- Nixon White House Counsel John Dean in his Watergate book Blind Ambition

Here we go again.

Even as the drama of health care carries the headlines, beneath the surface, visible now, the iceberg of scandal ripples.

First, the timeline on the blossoming scandal upon which we will now officially fix the dreaded "gate" descriptive. Jobsgate.

Woah... From the article:

" In a blink, Specter has raised the stakes here.

What we are now talking about is the potential for a significant unraveling of the Obama White House even as their biggest domestic agenda item, health care, sucks in most of the media oxygen.

If in fact Sestak is telling the truth, if in fact the Denver Post story about Andrew Romanoff is correct -- and neither Sestak nor Romanoff reported these offers to federal authorities -- Specter is saying both could in fact do jail time for committing a felony.

Even more remarkable is to comprehend why Robert Gibbs may now be standing at that White House podium five different times and refusing to answer questions from Jake Tapper and Major Garrett. If Sestak has told the truth, if the Denver Post got it right -- then not only is the person or persons within the White House who made these job offers in big trouble, but anybody else on the Obama White House staff who currently knows this has happened and has not reported it to the proper authorities -- the FBI, just for starters -- is, according to Specter, a potential prosecution target for "misprision of a felony." For which this person or persons could also go to jail along with whomever offered the jobs in the first place.

Quite possibly, that could include Robert Gibbs, if in fact he knows these job offers occurred."

Issa has given the WH until 3-18 to reply. Is that the reason for the rush to get health care done this week? Will the negative headlines ruin any shot at passing this or any other of Obamas follies? This WH is losing friends rapidly. Don’t forget now there are questions as to Holders original submission of docs to become AG. He may stonewall yet again but he also may find himself ex AG sooner rather than later. Who protects Obama then?

‘Boots rocks out!!!!

“Welcome to the Jungle...” should be Welcome to the Cesspool...

What a bunch of criminal slime these dems are...are there ANY Men left in Washington D.C. with the cajones to bring charges against these dirtbags?

On a different note: The article quoted Nixon in the opening above...but to my mind, regardless of all that we’ve been led to believe, I think Nixon was having the Dems bugged and wired up because elements of that party they were conspiring with internal Communists and international communist groups to make us lose the war in Vietnam. Gee...what a coincidence, huh? The Dems were a threat to national security back then too...just like now.

Just my thoughts on it.

This is really a bizarre story. Sestak has been on the local radio show a couple of times since he revealed on Larry King that the WH offered him a job. He will not come out and say that there was, in fact, a job offered anymore. He tip-toes around the question and never answers it. The host of the show here in York, PA gets very frustrated with him.

I think the WH has become the Tammany Hall of the country. IIRC, and my mind for history is sometimes clouded, but it seems more and more that it is not so much a socialist govt. the Dem leaders are leaning toward, than it is a totally corrupt and gang like government, ala Tammany Hall, that we are getting with this administration. It just seems to me there are many, many similarities.

Its kind of hard to enforce the laws when there are no laws being enforced.

Obama is a looter in the Whitehouse, everybody surrounding him are plundering America, the people have no will to object or to fight back.

Washington DC is a Katrina zone, too many people in high positions are bribed or led to believe Obama is some form of a prophesy that MUST be allowed to happen. Washington DC has for many many years relied upon the little talked about use of astrology, Chinese astrology, Mayan and numerology to map their plans.

And I seriously think someone screwed up, the idiot wasn’t born when and where they built his chart upon, and thus everything they thought he was cannot happen.

Yeah they tried to play that with Clinton too, but it only goes so far. I mean, come ON, given the colossal arrogance of this administration and everyone in it, is there really any doubt that they are breaking the law, committing high crimes and misdemeanors on a daily if not hourly basis? We just need the smoking gun. Please GOD let us find a smoking gun.

We have GOT to start getting some of these jokers in jail. I swear, the Congress and the Justice Department owe an apology to Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling. What they did was such small potatos compared to what has happened in the last two years that it can’t even be compared. Where is the JUSTICE?

That’s for sure. He could have worked this healthcare thing so we get the enema in the end, but in pieces so it’s hard to stop. The way they’re doing it, they’re completely trashing the constitution and their own ways of doing things, and alienating pretty much the entire country except for the moonbat base.

Question: Can around 25-30% moonbat base really steal the country from us and hold it?

(Geez that last line is good enough that I’m going to use it for my tagline.)

Standing ovation for your post.

The National Enquirer may win a Pulitzer for their expose into John Edwards, his affair, cover-up and bribes.

A tabloid rag, once considered a complete joke, broke one of the biggest political scandals of the decade and yet our esteemed 4th estate has sat silently as this administration has committed crime after crime.

One would think the NE trumping them on the Edwards story and a potential Pulitzer for it would embarrass old media like the Time and WaPo to get off their duffs and start to do their jobs.

It could be enough media people are still so enamored with Obama they’re perfectly content protecting him while allowing bloggers, gossip rags and online journals to actually undertake serious investigation and reporting.
