Specter Opens Door on White House Felonies(Can this be what brings down Zer0 and his pals?)
american spectator ^ | 3/16/10 | jeffrey lord

"There's a crime called misprision of a felony. Misprision of a felony is when you don't report a crime. So you're getting into pretty deep areas here in these considerations." -- U.S. Senator Arlen Specter on March 12, 2010

"Right now, they're doing the 'I won't confirm or deny,' and for us, it leaves two possibilities. One is the promise of transparency in this administration is just shot. The second one is even worse, which is either Sestak is lying or the administration has done something wrong and is covering it up…" -- U.S. Congressman Darryl Issa on Friday on March 12, 2010

"The 'stonewall strategy' functioned from the very first episodes of the cover-up. It was instinctive, from the very top of the Administration to the bottom. It was also ad hoc, developed in small reactions to the flurry of each day's events…we found ourselves trying to hold a line where we could." -- Nixon White House Counsel John Dean in his Watergate book Blind Ambition

Here we go again.

Even as the drama of health care carries the headlines, beneath the surface, visible now, the iceberg of scandal ripples.

First, the timeline on the blossoming scandal upon which we will now officially fix the dreaded "gate" descriptive. Jobsgate.

raybbr,

I wrote those. It’s a parody of Guns ‘n Roses, “Welcome to the Jungle”)

I’ve reposted several of my parodies from mid-2009 today. Don’t usually write them.

Does someone have a List of Obama's High Crimes and Misdemeanors?

I can start with these:

"Silence can only be equated with fraud where there is a legal or moral duty to speak or where an inquiry left unanswered would be intentionally misleading." United States v Prudder, 424 F. 2d 1021(5thCir. 1970),cert. denied, 400 U.S. 831 (1970)

Edwin Vieira, Constitutional Lawyer: "at the inauguration. . he's aware he's not a natural born citizen, then it's a perjured oath."

If this is about Arlen Specter, he just wants something from Bambi. It won’t go anywhere.

........the heat begins to rise as Arlen Specter steps into the middle of all this on Friday......

Which begs he question: what provoked Specter to raise the issue ?

Given that a Sestak acceptance of said job offer would have benefited him in his re-election as a senator, why did Spectre bring this up?

Leave Eric alone. He’s busy not investigating ACORN, not prosecuting polling place bullies and thinking up ways to give rights to terrorists.

Specter isn't exactly right here. Simple failure to report is not a crime under federal law - some positive act of concealment is required. The language of the federal misprision statute, 18 U.S.C. § 4, says that "Whoever, having knowledge of [a federal felony], conceals and does not as soon as possible make known the same" to the relevant authorities may be punished for misprision (emphasis added). The courts have repeatedly held that this means active, intentional concealment is an essential element of the crime.

Knowing failure to report was enough to constitute misprision at common law, but the common law crime of misprision has essentially been abolished in the vast majority of states, and federal criminal law does not incorporate common law crimes absent a specific statute to that effect.

If Sestak knows of a crime and has failed to report it, it could obviously damage him politically and is certainly a violation of his moral and civic duties, but Specter or a federal prosecutor would have to show more than that if Sestak is to be held criminally liable.

These types of crimes are good and all, but they pale to the biggest lie. If O was removed (due to this articles’ list of lawbreaking, it would be thru impeachment). Everything he has done
would be binding. If O is removed due to the Big Lie, he and his partie’s days would have been for nothing. A true re-start button. Now if the “right things” are “discovered” thru an impeachment investigation that expose the Big Lie-that might be ok. Just impeachment-and-conviction for a corrupt adm. is an easy out.

Did you read the article? Did you read about Darrell Issa? Sestek? Also the (surprising) follow up from the media on this?

I’m no Specter fan, but it’s about more than him.

If Sestak and Romanoff have already come forward, how many more have been bought off or bribed and not come forward?

Darrell Issa is not going to let go. He’s in for the long haul.

Arlen Specter is quirky and always looks out for Arlen first. He is loyal to no one and no party. Once the story was out, Arlen’s best avenue was to distance himself and now he’s done so by citing the White House’s possible felonies. “Arlen the independent public servant.”

I just hope Arlen’s self-serving utterances, will serve as the fuel that starts to bring down Obama and his criminal administration. GO Issa!

And the MSM completes the 3 monkeys (see no evil; hear no evil; speak no evil) scene...

Isn’t that like aiding and abetting on the part of the MSM. If they were told information and didn’t act on it would they be held accountable?

Fox has since tempered their criticism of the one.

ONLY publicly. Behind the scene they are gathering facts and figures and will be ready when the time is right.

The other difference is Clinton had talent, and could and would actually swing t the center to protect himself. Obama is an empty suit and an ideologue and pretty dumb compared to Bubba.

You got that right! And, dare I say, he was more likable than this buffoon.

Boy, that’s the truth ! Arlen looks
after Arlen ... alone. And to think
he’s been so blessed to recover from
horrendous illness .. and this is the
gratitude and honor by which he shows
his humility and gratitude for his great
blessing.

Another justice, Arlen ... another higher
justice. And it ain’t coming from Scotland.

Go, Darrell!
