We deserve what we get now for nobody standing up to tell the government ‘no’ in 1934.
We deserve all the government we’ve allowed to expand.

“The fact of the matter is the GOP, in both the House and the Senate is absolutely and completely powerless to stop this. It ALL rests in the hands of the Democrats, and it has for over a year. This is what is laughable about the Republicans being portrayed as the “party of No”. They aren’t the party of “no” because they don’t have the votes to stop virtually anything the Democrats want to do.”
They need to SCREAM and YELL - so that they represent us who are SCREAMING and YELLING. They can stop parts of reconciliation in the Senate too. Other than that, you’re right, they can do practically nothing.

You can add:
Rep. James Oberstar (D) of Minnesota, who voted against an earlier version of the bill because its language regarding federal funding of abortion was not strict enough, said he was prepared to vote yes this time, despite the fact that the language has not been changed. To pass healthcare reform, Democrats look for House 'swing votes'

Good point! Just tell pelosi you are voting "yea". That would keep the thugs from waterbording you. Pelosi will think she has it in the bag and call for the vote. Then, switch to "no". From what I have heard, they need to get 25 undecideds to vote "yea". So, when the vote is taken, the bill goes down in flames.
VICTORY DANCE!!!

There won’t be a vote if Pelosi doesn’t have the votes. No Speaker would risk putting his/her members having to take a tough vote without knowing the outcome.
As long as there is no vote scheduled, Pelosi ain’t got the votes.

**All that does is make the leftist base angry and gets them calling their reps.
We don’t need that right now. Plenty of their base DO NOT LIKE this bill and we want to keep it that way.
Don’t blame the Repubs. The blame needs to remain squarely on the Dems.

While I agree with you Siena about taking advantage of the discontent all the way ‘round, Pubbies need to connect with Patriot/Tea Party discontent on this here and NOW...they need to stand up for the US Constitution, right NOW. If not NOW, when they threaten to SLAUGHTER the USC, when?

The NOs have 214 already if people stick to their position (216 would kill the bill) The Hill newspaper has the best count IMHO.178 GOP + 36 RATS = 214 NO votes
Keep fighting
As I recall, the baseline number for the 'Yes' votes started at 191.

That’s why I’m a little worried about their smug little posturing of late. [of course they’ve been doing that for almost a year now, basTURDS!]

What I don't understand is how pelosi can be TOTALLY certain that each individual House member that says he/she is going to vote "yea" is REALLY going to vote "yea"?
Do they have to sign a contract in "blood" and take an oath that their soul belongs to satan if they change their vote? If not, (I know it's a long shot) but just saying you will vote "yea" would begin the process of getting this thing to the floor for the final showdown. I know, I know, it's a long shot but just maybe it would work and the fake "yeas" would blow up the bill by voting "no" and save this country.

Jason Altmire, PA-4, had his seat bought and paid for by George Soros. I suspected as much in 2006 when he had wall-to-wall television advertisements on the entire Pittsburgh media market which covers four other congressional districts. No challenger can afford to buy that much time without considerable outside help.

Clyburn’s blowing smoke. Next you’ll hear that opponents shouldn’t even bother to show up for the vote since it’s a done deal. If they had the votes today, they’d pass it today.

Keep calling Altmire — let him know that he will exact a significant price for his vote.
I am doing the same with fat Tim Walz.
