Romney fans, please don't shoot the messenger.
Mitt Romney's book has debuted at #1 atop the NY Times best-seller list among non-fiction hardcover books. However, the NY Times also provides some additional information that may explain how Romney's book hit the #1 spot.
Whenever the NY Times places a "dagger" symbol next to a book, it signifies that "some bookstores report[ed] receiving bulk orders" for the book.
The NY Times placed not just one, but two, daggers next to Romney's book. You can draw your own conclusion as to who it was that purchased Governor Romney's book in bulk.
By contrast, the NY Times failed to place the "dagger" symbol next to Governor Palin's book in any of the weeks she held the top position on the NY Times best-seller list among non-fiction hardcover books. Despite the left's unsubstantiated theories, bookstores did not report to the NY Times that they received bulk orders for Going Rogue. See week 1, week 2, week 3, week 4, week 5, and week 6. As you can see, in none of these weeks is there a dagger symbol next to her book.
Once again, I'm just reporting what I found from the NY Times. Don't shoot the messenger.
Nope.
True but that didn’t push it to #1. Like Mittens is.
I’m confused, because I went to Friday, March 12th NY Times bestseller list, and I don’t even see Romney’s book listed. I figured it wasn’t selling very well.
Where do I go to see it on the top of the bestseller list?
Ah, weird. Apparently you can get to a future NY times page if you type things in right, but not if you simply ask them to show you the bestsellers.
probably this Sunday’s Times Book Review.
His denomination?
Now, since i obviously don’t know how to find book information, can someone tell me how to find out how many copies of a book have been sold? I thought there should be a list somewhere, but I can’t find one.
My guess is that some Mormon churches ordered several of them.
If Mitt bought ALL of those copies of his own book (I doubt he’d be that dumb), he would cover it very well.
I’m sure some intrepid reporter will find out WHO ordered all those books, and try to find a Mitt connection. :)
Sometimes, the media really do target conservatives for destruction.
My bookstore had bulk orders for the Palin book as well, usually 10-25 copies for various local groups and the like...nothing on the Romney book at this time however...magritte
Of course he juiced the numbers. Sarah didn't because she knew she would be crucified by the Obamist media if she juiced her numbers. So she didn't, save for the 10,000 books she set aside for SarahPAC contributors.
When Romneybots Attack.....
Best,
Chris
No, I think it is Romney who is buying his own books. It's an old trick. You invest a few million to buy a couple of hundred thousand books and suddenly you become a best selling author. It increases your "gravitas". Politicians will pay millions to have more of that, especially if they have hundreds of millions of walking around dollars.

I understand that she used some of her books for fund raising by that doesn't explain why Romney's book has two of the bulk sales symbols on the New York Times list, what is he doing?
You seem to have steered away from this article.
All headlines from a liberal perspective. It wasn't too long ago that the thread about Palin’s PAC purchasing her own book ($63K as of 2/1/10) had it's own thread here, but albeit a very different tone.
“Sarah Palin Uses PAC to Buy Her Own Book (as did Hillary Clinton with Living History)”

It's astounding to behold, it really is.
May it was because they had to stock up on all the Book’s Palin sold when she was on her book tour. You know 2500-3000 at a crack. That was the average Sarah had at ever stop.
Oh by the way this thread has to do more with Mitt than it does Sarah.

How do you tell when a conservative has a book on the New York Times Bestseller list?
(Clue: the adjective “surprise” does not precede the words `New York Times best seller’ in the Willardbook forecast cited above.)
How did you manage to work that in when the topic is the anti-conservative, Mitt Romney/
Romney has very wealthy friends and supporters. Some of them make him look like a pauper by comparison.
