I'm trying to wrap my mind around the kind of thinking and lynch mob mentality that I see here sometimes. Frankly, it's disturbing.

It wasn't too long ago that the thread about Palin’s PAC purchasing her own book ($63K as of 2/1/10) had it's own thread here, but albeit a very different tone.

“Sarah Palin Uses PAC to Buy Her Own Book (as did Hillary Clinton with Living History)”

It's astounding to behold, it really is.

I believe that people are responding to the thread topic.

“Whenever the NY Times places a “dagger” symbol next to a book, it signifies that “some bookstores report[ed] receiving bulk orders” for the book.

The NY Times placed not just one, but two, daggers next to Romney’s book. You can draw your own conclusion as to who it was that purchased Governor Romney’s book in bulk.

By contrast, the NY Times failed to place the “dagger” symbol next to Governor Palin’s book in any of the weeks she held the top position on the NY Times best-seller list among non-fiction hardcover books. Despite the left’s unsubstantiated theories, bookstores did not report to the NY Times that they received bulk orders for Going Rogue.”

The difference is that most people here do not have an irrational screeching hatred of Sarah Palin.

It's astounding to behold, it really is.

What is astounding is that some people just don't know how to do math. $63K represents only a few thousand copies, which does not place a book anywhere near the best seller list. And also, the reason Palin's copies didn't register the dagger is that she purchased them directly from the publisher rather than through a book store where they are counted as scanned sales.

In the case of Romney's book, someone is buying bulk from the book stores. If this was Romney this would have to be a deliberate attempt to increase the sales figures, because I am sure he would know that buying them directly from the publisher sans the royalty like Palin did would be much cheaper. Don't cha think?

Otherwise, someone is just trying to corner the market on resales of this hot item.

Sarah openly buying copies of her book from the publisher is a lot different than making bulk purchases from a retailer. Purchases directly from the publisher don’t count in the numbers on the best sellers lists.

Besides, over 2.5 million copies of Sarah’s books have been published and I doubt that Romney’s will do 1/10th of that.

Do you not think it has something to do with Romney's history?

So...what's your take on Mitt Romney?

Is he worthy of your vote?

Will you vote for him in the primary...if he's a candidate?

And if you will vote for him...why?
