Breaking: House passes GOP demand for investigation into Massa, Dem leadership
Hot Air ^ | MARCH 11, 2010 | ED MORRISSEY

If Nancy Pelosi hoped to put the debacle of Eric Massa behind her, she failed to do so — mainly because too many Democrats apparently sense something weird at play, too. The House passed a GOP privileged resolution demanding an investigation into the handling of Massa’s behavior and complaints about ethics, which the Washington Post reported today had been known to House leadership for a long time:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office was notified in October by then-Rep. Eric Massa’s top aide of concerns about the New York Democrat’s behavior, two congressional sources familiar with the matter said Wednesday night. …

Is this real? If so, it is a graphic demonstration that the Rats are now scared to death of the Lemming Trap sprung on them by Obambi/Reid/Pelosi and they are now willing to play hardball the Chicago Way to fight back against the “losses” the leadership is pushing them to take out of their own hides.

First thing I thought when I read this. I don’t think it’ll happen though...they’re liberals after all and seem to be drawn to the stink of corruption. I suspect this will all be swept under the rug by the MSM anyway. The libs and MSM The Culture of Corruption and Hypocrisy.

Good move and keep it up. When the Dems obstruct raise holy hell with the American people.

Methinks they will say old news lets “MOVE ON”. I believe they have a George Soros funded lobby group designed to do just this thing.

Anybody care to give a recap of this story?

If you haven't done so I would recommend reading the entire article available at the link.

House Republicans are kicking Dem butts.

I don’t know any republican who elevated him to a “darling”, much less a “republican darling”.

We merely pointed out that of all the democrats who are embroiled in scandal, it seemed odd that the only one being driven out was a guy who couldn’t be convinced to change his no vote to a yes vote.

Of course, there was Beck, but he’s hardly a republican.

No methinks the pressure from the voting public and big industry is getting to them.

Great stuff thanks.

What is the investigation about? He’s groping guys, and is an anti homosexual lawmaker who is gay?

What did or didn’t happen on Beck?

No, that’s not the story.

They stopped the investigation of Massa because he resigned, and the house has no jurisdiction over former members.

This was a request to START an investigation into the house democratic leadership, regarding when they were told of the complaints against Massa, and how the complaints were handled.

This is analagous to the motion back in 2006 to investigate the republican leadership regarding the Tom Foley matter.

He went on Beck’s show and didn’t really say much of anything that we don’t already know. Sounds like he told Beck that he was going to expose some real dirt on congress but gave up nothing.

The next day the ethics investigation was dropped.

Personally I want to know why congress produces so many homosexual scandals on both sides of the aisle. Seems like there are far more homosexuals in congress than there are in society (Per capita)

I'll repeat myself just this once because what I said about Massa's ploy is now being demonstrated by the entire Rat party in Congress:

The point is not whether Massa is a good guy or even telling the truth. But, lawdhavemercy, he is making it very clear that the hardscrabble Rats’ whose political be-hinds are on the line have had just about enough of the amateur man-child Don.

They’re saying, “You want the Chicago Way, boss? Here’s the Chicago Way. You push a snake, you get bit. Right, wrong, lies, truth, doesn’t matter. You get bit with everything I got.”

And:

Even if this is a complete lie on Massa’s part, the funny thing is the lie plays brilliantly into the political meme that Obambi will stop at nothing to SCREW AMERICANS by forcing healthcare down their throats.

IOW, just the discussing of Massa’s story powerfully reinforces the negative reactions most Americans are already having at the gag-me thought of reconciliation and, indeed, of how from Day One this President has done nothing but lie to and try to snooker and cramdown on the American people.

Even if Massa’s interpretation of events is a complete fabrication and a deliberate lie, it still is illustrative of the state of politics (the Chicago Way) in the Rat party right now.

Obambi has put them into a position that they are going to tear into each other any which way they think they need to to save their political skin. The Rat party is now in the semi-delicious state of rat-eat-rat, every man, etc. for himself. This demonstrates beyond all doubt that Obambi is leading his party like lemmings off a political cliff.

And, yes, that EPICFAIL on Obambi's part is salvation for the country.

The rank-and-file Rat congresscritters now know they better get with it if they don't want to be on the pointy end of the Chicago Way. Voting to investigate the Rat leadership is classic "they hit you, you put one dem in da morgue" Chicago Way pushback. It's "you poke a snake, you get bit."

It's time for Denny Hastert to make the TV rounds demanding equal treatment of Pelosi.

The House Republicans are holding Massa scandal to same standards as applied to Foley.

Ah, thank you ... it didn't even occur to me that duh, he's gone, no more jurisdiction. Consider me doinked!!

Sorry, vision, typed it all out for naught. But CharlesWayne is right, it's akin to Tom Foley (former speaker, not Mark Foley, they other guy involved with creepy shenanigans).

I thought Massa said this happened at a wedding in January? How would Pelosi learn about it in October then? I’m so confused.

He went on Beck’s show and didn’t really say much of anything that we don’t already know. Sounds like he told Beck that he was going to expose some real dirt on congress but gave up nothing.

We got more about the way things work re: leaning on House members, votes and such, from Eric Fingerhut back in 1993, two-term Dem from Ohio who had the Dem machine work to defeat him in 94 (they succeeded) in part because he was a member of the bi-partisan Penny-Kasich gang. I was yelling at the TV when Massa starts with the "We need campaign finance reform" baloney, what a maroon. His performance with Beck, especially having Glenn tell us what was being said during commercial breaks, in the court of my private opinion, this guy is guilty as all get-out, a real creepy creep.

The next day the ethics investigation was dropped.

That's why I got the story incorrect in my re-tell, the timing of it, as I said, it didn't occur to me that with or without the appearances, any other media spots, the House would drop it due to his resignation.
