“”The urban core has suffered white flight post-the 1954 U.S. Supreme Court decision Brown v. the Board of Education, blockbusting by the real estate industry, redlining by banks and other financial institutions, retail and grocery store abandonment,” Kansas City Councilwoman Sharon Sanders Brooks said to applause from a standing-room-only crowd of more than 200 people.”

Wow my BS meter just exploded.

Isn’t KC the city where some judge made them spend more than $1B to upgrade their schools so they looked like Phillips Exeter Academy?

You know, if the district does indeed close and consolidate unused or underused schools, we should applaud this action. It will be one of the few times government actually cuts back.

The way I see it is that this is a prelude to forcing the rest of Kansas to pay for their education system because that “is where the whites went”. Her whole rant was against white actions against the community.

“retail and grocery store abandonment”

is one really got me...what are the owners supposed to do? Leave grocery stores open even if they lose money?

Maybe large chains will be required to do that in the not too distant future.

These schools have been nothing but a political jobs programs for favored minority elites. The beauty of the system is that you didn’t have to actually show your face at the school or to be remotely associated with the education of students. All you had to do was to know or to be related to the black mafia that runs Kansas City. The inconvenient fact that actual students, both black and white, were tossed to the curb with this scam mattered not. What mattered is that lots of money was tossed around and those connected to the Democrat Party cashed in.

People with children who can put their kids in private schools or leave the district. It is a hell hole. May Judge Russell G. Clark burn in Hell.

The only good thing I can point to it that this proved conclusively that you cannot solve the problems of public schools by throwing MASSIVE money at them.

I doubt these closures hold without some court challenge of some type.

This is the mentality/work-ethic of the inner-city today:

Fourth Generation welfare/foodstamp/Medicaid/etc. recipients who want OTHERS to fund their entire lives and vote only for those who would hand them freebies.

Get used to it; this is the future for Amerika under the Socialists.....

"The urban core has suffered white flight post-the 1954 U.S. Supreme Court decision Brown v. the Board of Education, blockbusting by the real estate industry, redlining by banks and other financial institutions, retail and grocery store abandonment," Kansas City Councilwoman Sharon Sanders Brooks said to applause from a standing-room-only crowd of more than 200 people.

I fled this school district when the supposed 'intelligentsia' of the liberal methodology decided they would use young children to perform a social experiment. IT was NOT redlining by banks or other financial institutions that sent me packing. IT was the sheer idiocy of putting kindergartners on a bus starting around 5:30 a.m. and 'busing' them through rush hour traffic out of their neighborhoods.

I as a parent would NEVER put my 5 year old in that situation.

These idiots have NO problem with legislating an 'earnings' tax upon business that operated within their urban zone and then belly ache, itch, whine and moan that it is some banking institution's fault for urban rot. It has been a 'crime' against humanity what these liberal social engineers have accomplished, and the literal dollar figure can never be calculated.

And I firmly believe there will be a 'heavenly' accounting for what these plotters and planners have reeked over the years upon young children. Race actually is not the issue, but the vehicle devised by reprobate double minded people of all colors to put as many into bondage as they possibly can. My heart aches for the carnage cause by these 'evil' twisted people that in the name of education set in motion actions that have destroyed so many lives over the generations.

I thought this rang a bell....

This is the same school district that engaged in this little experiment back in the mid 1980's:

When the Jimmy Carter appointment, Judge Clark, started ordering vast expenditures in the school system with Olympic sized swimming pools, computers, labs, etc. everyone knew this day would come.

Just a matter of time.
