“”The urban core has suffered white flight post-the 1954 U.S. Supreme Court decision Brown v. the Board of Education, blockbusting by the real estate industry, redlining by banks and other financial institutions, retail and grocery store abandonment,” Kansas City Councilwoman Sharon Sanders Brooks said to applause from a standing-room-only crowd of more than 200 people.”

Wow my BS meter just exploded.

Yeah, I like how they blame everything OTHER than liberal policies for the mess that KC and too many other cities are in.

Foolishly liberal city and county government are but two of the many reasons I live out in the sticks now.

Last I checked the urban community was claiming they don’t need whites in their neighborhood.
Remember “Chocolate City”?

Covington has stressed that the district's buildings are only half-full as its population has plummeted amid political squabbling and chronically abysmal test scores. The district's enrollment of fewer than 18,000 students is about half of what the schools had a decade ago and just a quarter of its peak in the late 1960s.

These two paragraphs were both taken from the article.

The "peak in the late 1960s" was about 15 years after Brown v. Board of Education.

What is truly interesting about Brown vs Board of Ed. was that the liberals could not fathom that the average guy out there would ever conceive of just pulling up stakes and moving for the sake of his kids.
Well that is just one the reasons the whole busing, forced integration policies failed and failed big.
People did the unexpected that left the Liberals fuming.
The big story on the news this week is the absolute failure of the school system to even teach the basics to the kids.
Now Obama wants to mandate the kids learn certain basics on a time frame the Federal Government puts out.
Just how in the Hell is that going to work?
When they finally get rid of the NEA and high paid supervisors, principals, etc., and get teachers that want to teach rather than spew Socialism then maybe we can graduate kids that can read and write.

I haven’t seen so much racist BS since the last time I saw the Congressional Black Caucus on C-SPAN.

Well Ms. Brooks that certianly says a lot about the Black community. What you just said is that once the White Community decided to leave for greener pastures your Black Community could not function. Why is it your community never pulled their boots on and took advantage of the situation and got working and thrived?
