That’s what’s really scary about this situation.

It’s the best way to ensure that the federal government can reach its tentacles into every community and all aspects of our lives.

If they were as brazen as to implement a civilian security force nationwide and call it such, there would be much more outcry. This way they can do it by stealth and have a *reasonable* explanation that the parents will swallow, especially considering how so many people in this country are brainwashed into rolling over and exposing their jugular when the school district speaks.

It appears the Dept. of ED already had an "existing inventory" of shotguns. According to the synopsis at the link, these shotguns...

...are designated as the only shotguns authorized for ED based on compatibility with ED existing shotgun inventory, certified armor and combat training and protocol, maintenance, and parts.

Sounds ominous, doesn't it? Anyway, they're adding to their inventory. The question is: Why did the Dept. of ED ever need shotguns in the first place? Are there armed guards protecting the offices of the Dept. of ED, maybe? It all sounds so bizarre.

My theory? After they’ve seen “illegal” behavior on spy-web-cams, they’ll come bursting down doors and taking away the contraband butter knives or aspirin.

Are you saying there are better combat shotguns than the 870, or that you don’t like shotguns for combat? Just a curious question, no flaming intended whatsoever.

“They also receive a 25% pay bump and are eligible for retirement after 20 years....”

The operative words here...We the People...at gunpoint, get to pay them to go away....come to think of it, my great-grandfather ran an Irish bar on Prospect Hill in Brooklyn...he used to have to do the same thing...except rather than EPA badges....they wore their hair Sicilian....

I'm saying that there are better combat shotguns than the Remington 870. I love shotguns for close quarter combat or home defense. I have two in strategic locations in my home.

For a pump that only costs a little more than the 870, I suggest the Mossberg 500. It comes in a variety of models and has a smoother action than the Remington.

For a little more money, you can get a Saiga 12 with semi-auto action and a detachable magazine. It has the same basic action as the Kalisnikov rifles.

The 870 is a great shotgun, but I wouldn't want to go into combat with one unless it was all I could get my hands on.

How come? Are you more partial to auto-loaders?

I'm in the market for a good shotgun so just wondering. I want something for all around purposes, 3-gun competitions, home defense, SHTF.

Interesting. And a kindergartner who makes a gun with his hand gets suspended.

Rules for thee, but not for me.
