Dan Rather: 'Articulate' Obama Couldn't Even 'Sell Watermelons' By Geoffrey Dickens Created 03/08/2010 - 14:41
HDNet's Dan Rather stepped on one mine after another in the racial minefield that exists when talking about the nation's first black President as the former CBS anchor, on the syndicated Chris Matthews Show on March 8th, uttered the following take on the President's ability to get health care passed and how the GOP and independents would view it.
DAN RATHER: Part of the undertow in the coming election is going to be President Obama's leadership. And the Republicans will make a case and a lot of independents will buy this argument. "Listen he just hasn't been, look at the health care bill. It was his number one priority. It took him forever to get it through and he had to compromise it to death." And a version of, "Listen he's a nice person, he's very articulate" this is what's been used against him, "but he couldn't sell watermelons if it, you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic."
Else I be tempted to post funny Obamah pics and get myself into trouble yet again.
When are Republicans going to end political double-standards in this country? If George Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, or any other Republican had said that Barach Obama couldn't sell watermelons, all hell would have broken out in DC; I have no doubt the offender would have been censored by Congress.
Here's a hint to the Republican National Party: Save your postage. I'm not giving you a red cent until you learn to fight back — to WIN!!!
Ahh, the soft bigotry of the Southern Democrat! Wackjob Dan never fails to entertain.
Dems/Libs are the biggest racists out there. And they are going to turn on Obama in a big way. A lot of them privately believe that Obama is failing because they think a black man cannot handle the job. This is something I never heard from Conservatives (because they don't believe it) but I am starting to hear it from some Dems.
Blather is saying that “ the Republicans will make a case” about watermelon sales. Dan is brain dead.
Chris Matthews completely freaks out and starts talking over Dan Rather as soon as Dan says the word “watermelons”. Ouch.
Good line Dan, no harm meant. But Matthews couldn’t deal with it.
Hahahahahahhhhhaaaa. Danny boy, you better come out with that line of imported Chinese watermelon bedroom slippers post haste!
Let’s watch the libs try to back off this one.
And your point for the long definition being? The legality of public employee unions was not voted on by congress or the people of the United States. It was made legal by an executive order signed by JFK. Any sitting president can simply rescind (you know : to take away : remove 2 a : take back, cancel b : to abrogate (a contract) and restore the parties to the positions they would have occupied had there been no contract 3 : to make void (as an act) by action of the enacting authority or a superior authority : repeal ) that executive order and organizing or being a member of a public employee union returns to its prior illegal status.
I will no longer buy watermelon, fried chicken or grape juice for fear that others will think I voted for Obama.....
Actually, I love all of that stuff, maybe my white cracker skin is lying to me and my inner black is trying to get out.
Rather is an idiot.
Leftists DO see blacks as inferior.
It’s inherent in their policies, though they would deny it -
the assumption is that blacks can’t compete under the same rules as everyone else in society.
And the idea of “inherent systemic racism” has been repeatedly debunked, logically, by Thomas Sowell.
Oh stoppp!!! LOL.
He has no familial connection to America, period!
Grape juice?
First I’d heard that association.
He’s a liberal democrat. He can say anything he wants.
Nobody watches Matthews, but the audio sure got played on Rush today...lol.
I just gasped when I heard Rush play this audio. And what would Dan have said if Matthews had allowed him to continue?! Is the SPLC going to add Rather to its list of extremists? LOL. Of course the rest of the “news” media will cover up for him. Can you imagine if Rush, Glenn, Sean, Boehner, McConnell, Palin etc etc had said such a thing?? Heads would have rolled already.
