I called his office mad as heck yesterday and told them ethics violation or not he would not get my vote for governor if he left before this vote was taken.
Very good news!
I would think a no vote on the obamacare monstrosity would be a big boost in his campaign for governor. Whereas resigning would improve the chances for obamacare and be a real thorn in the side for his campaign.
Hang in there, NATHAN !!!
When will Obama try to pass Obamacare by executive order? I predict the first week in May. Government comes apart subsequently. Get those generators installed.

U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal will delay his resignation from Congress by three weeks, citing intense pressure from House Republican leaders to remain and vote against President Barack Obamas plan to overhaul the nations health care system.
From the press release issued by the north Georgia congressman:
Just two days after I announced my intentions to leave Congress, the majority party stepped up the schedule for the proposed health care bill. Having been deeply involved in all health care legislation for the past decade, I knew it was important to stay and vote down this bill .
Yesterday, as I listened to President Obamas aggressive push for a quick vote on Obama-Care, it was clear that I must stay in Congress and continue to fight against the most liberal health care agenda ever proposed.
A spokesman for Deal said the congressman was urged by House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) as well as Gov. Sonny Perdue to remain for the health care vote.
The Deal campaign released a statement from Boehner, which reads in part:
Kratovil is going to lose in Maryland’s 1st. Voting for the bill will only make the loss that much bigger. Hopefully he will (foolishly) think he has a chance and will therefore vote no to reflect his constituents.
Something to ponder..as they get closer to the vote, EVERYONE will start to declare themselves..and if it’s one vote short, by a hard count..then a lot of Dems..the Blue Dogs especially, will say WHY shoudl I vote for it in a losing cause, and piss off the people back home..when the bill loses..it’s lose by 40-50 votes..if not more
Honestly, Deal is going to have to stay in office indefinitely. If he delays his resignation a few weeks, Pelosi can just schedule another vote after that.
Obama can never be trusted, even with that scenario, which would require Obama to sign both bills at the same time. I would not put it past him to veto the reconciliation bill and sign the Senate bill.
Never give a timetable for withdrawal.
He should stay until the mission is accomplished and the USA achieves victory!
“I think he hurt Joe Frazier. I think Joe is hurt...Angie Dundee, Ali’s trainer right next to me is saying it, you may hear him—DOWN GOES FRAZIER! DOWN GOES FRAZIER! DOWN GOES FRAZIER!”
In the next few weeks if not the next few days I expect the idea that the Senate will pass a Reconciliation Bill prior to a House vote on the Senate version of ObamaCare will rise steadily to the forefront of discussions.
The reason why: It is the Dems ONLY SOLUTION. And it is, very likely ILLEGAL. If not illegal it is certainly in violation of the Senate rules which require that the use of the reconciliation process is only allowed to make certain types of modifications to EXISTING LAW. Until the House passes the bill and Obama signs it there is no LAW. So the Dems can't put the buggy in front of the horse. But of course they will try. It is the only choice they have left.
So get out the popcorn and start watching for the Dems to begin explaining why what I wrote above is not really true in this case. You read it here first. You will soon be reading about it in the WSJ and listening to discussions about it on Fox News.
“The only way to flip all three? The Senate has to pass Obamas fix to Reids Senate bill before the House votes on anything.”
Excellent point. Voting for the full bill at first means the Senate could just IGNORE reconciliation and send it off to Obama.
Why? When both houses vote on the same bill, it’s past. It’s over.
The only reason for the talk of reconciliation is the ‘promise’ to to it.
But, if you don’t pass the “fix” first....that’s nothing but empty words.
And while the fix is better (tons better), it has a lot of problems and still is basically Obama ramming his lefty agenda through...
“Obama could in theory push the vote back into April or May to wait Deal out and force him to resign before the bill comes to the floor...”
Oh please do, Zero. In fact wait until October and ask Congress to do nothing else until then. This would be such a nice October Surprise for voters.
...Gibbs set a deadline of March 18 for passage this morning....
Why are they doing this during Great Lent, when many of us have been giving up our “bashing” Internet comments?
Why does this guy even have to resign at all?
Heck, 0bama run for president of the entire country and still never resigned from the US Senate till he was about to rake office. This fool just doesn't get it. This vote is about the end of America as we know it. Where does the Republican Party keep picking up these dunderheads from anyways? They have no clue about the strategic importance of anything. It's all about him, and screw everyone else. What a selfish fellow.
Oh how I love to see the pubs act with conviction.
I mock them when they don’t, when they man the tanning booths and pray for DC cocktail party invites. I poke fun at their perfectly coiffed hair where not one strand should ever leave its appointed place and, of course, the perfectly polished nails. But naturally I curse and moan that exercise the Senate pubs practice with zeal, this reaching across the aisle.
Thus i must jump for joy at this effort. The pubs are sticking it out and I know their knees are shaking.
HANG IN THERE PUBS. IF THE HEAD HAIRS GET MUSSED, WE FORGIVE.
