California job losses grow
Silicon Valley Mercury News ^ | 1 March 2009 | George Avalos

Posted on 03/04/2010 11:41:20 AM PST by Spktyr

California lost far more jobs last year than the state initially reported, according to a new report that provides an early glimpse into statewide employment trends.

That would translate into 292,000 more lost jobs.

"If it comes to that number, it would be one of the biggest revisions ever," said Paul Wessen, an economist with the state EDD. "I can't remember a revision this big since the early 1990s, when we lost a lot of aerospace jobs."

No sh*t.

I may as well be barking at the moon than sending out resumes.

Yeah, my guess is that they’re going to be revising the numbers for everyone.

The guy who posted the Texas one was gloating over how TX lost 50K more than previously reported. This article reports that CA lost almost *300K* more than reported in the same time period.

Kudos to author George Avalos and his creative writing skills. I read the article and he made it all the way through without using the word “unexpected.” Not even once. He used every phrase there is to convey the meaning, but the word itself, he deftly managed to avoid.

Very well played, George. I tip my hat to you.

I hope this is the “hope & change” these morons here in California wanted because THAT’S WHAT THEY GOT!

(At least the “change” part.)

California is becoming Michigan... hahahahahha... They even have stupid commercials advertising how "great" California is for business. Pathetic. Arnold, his block jawed wife Shriver and the rest of the kewl Californians.

as IF those commercials will convince anybody that California is a place to do business. bwahshahahahaha.... freak show, thug paradise and kleptocrats that just know what is good for the whole freaking world.

liberals are like flies. Whatever they don't eat, they sh#t on. Look at Austin, Texas. Used to be a nice little fun place in Texas, now they have homeless under the bridges and like to show the rest of Texas how they like to "keep it weird" Austin.

>>and yet somehow the article leaves out the actual or revised totals.<<

That is very telling of either A) the low quality of the reporter or, B) an unwillingness to report the news.

One reason I dumped all broadcast media was because I was sick and tired of watching or listening to stories that left me with simple and critical questions un-asked and unanswered.
