We've Lost The Capitol

It’s always dramatic when, in a war, the capitol city falls.

Jerusalem before Romans.

Rome before barbarians.

Constantinople before Turks.

Richmond before Yankees.

Paris before the Germans.

Berlin before the Allies.

Kabul . . . Baghdad . . . and countless others.

And now Washington has fallen.

In the culture war.

As of today, licenses for homosexual “marriages” are being issued in Washington, D.C.

You might not have known it—the media has been deliberately under-reporting the march of homosexual marriage across our nation—but the D.C. city council recently passed a measure allowing homosexual marriages to be performed in the district.

It could have been stopped by Congress, but it wasn’t—which tells you where Congress is on this issue.

And it followed the pattern by which capitol cities usually fall.

They aren’t the first thing to go. Before the capitol is taken, other areas fall first.

Take a look at the map above. Anything blue is bad. Those are the areas that have already partially or totally fallen.

MORE INFO ON THE MAP HERE

And in Washington the barbarians—now in control of the city—are rejoicing.

GET THE STORY

AND THE CHURCH IS BEING FORCED TO MAKE HARD CHOICES.

So.

What does the loss of the capitol portend in this war?

Your thoughts . . . ?

Never thought I’d see the day. Perhaps not all is lost.

Related: this e-mail from the Bill Donohue at the Catholic League:

“DON’T ASK, DON’T TELL” ALARMS OF THE FAITHFUL

Catholic League president Bill Donohue explains why it is necessary for those reviewing the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy to study the free speech and religious liberty implications of repealing it:

Over the past week, I have had many discussions with people from several religions about the decision to withdraw the invitation previously extended to Tony Perkins from speaking at a National Prayer Luncheon at Andrews Air Force Base. The invitation was pulled because Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, opposes “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” In response, I wrote a letter to Maj. Gen. Darrell D. Jones, Commander of the Air Force District of Washington, expressing my concerns. Recent conversations have convinced me that much more is at issue than just the Perkins travesty.

At issue are the legitimate concerns of many in the Catholic and Protestant communities: What will happen to the free speech and religious liberty rights of those who serve in the military, especially the clergy, if “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” is repealed?

We will now contact the Senate Armed Services Committee asking for a review of the impact that a repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” might have on these First Amendment rights. We will also contact those in charge of leading the assessment of gays in the military, namely, Jeh Johnson, general counsel for the Department of Defense, and Gen. Carter Ham, U.S. Army Forces Europe commander.

What we need to know is obvious. If Perkins, who is a civilian, is being punished for supporting the existing policy, God only knows what will happen to those in uniform if they voice disapproval of a new policy. Until this constitutional issue is resolved, further review of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” should be put on ice.

In the first chapter of Romans, in the Bible, it takes only a few verses from turning our backs on God to falling into fullblown perversion. If God does not “rend the heavens and come down,” there is no hope for us.

The Left as a whole are an immoral lot. Homosexuality, same sex marriage are mostly between people of lesser character, weaklings in a World brought down to their level intentionally by the Leftists to use their plight, weak as it is as a tool to undermine the strength, and character of this free, and moral society.

I got this in an email today. Title: Military Quote of the Year

“When I joined the military it was illegal to be homosexual, then it became optional. I’m getting out before it becomes mandatory.”

Ummmm, NEWS FLASH: U.S. Capitol City is a liberal basket case for at least 35 years!!!! The city is run like a 3rd World country...

As a native to the DC area (and technically native to DC itself) I don’t find this at all surprising—just more of the same. This is the same city that 15 yrs ago re-elected a mayor AFTER he was video-taped smoking crack, so, well, “I’m shocked, SHOCKED!!!”

Although we as Christians should care about the homosexual marriage issue, by and large, people really don’t. They’re only less than 2% of the population (though surely more than that in DC), so most feel it doesn’t apply to them... but yes, I do know the implications and I find it extremely worrying.

Logically, we cannot have real religious freedom, and homosexual “rights.” It’s the first time in Western history that serious immorality has been given special privileges and protections...

Does the Vatican accept persons seeking political asylum?

Seriously—it may soon come to that.

That's exactly how I felt when I went off to college.
