The White House is bracing for an ugly unemployment report on Friday that is expected to be worse because of the three winter storms that hit the East Coast last month.
Goldman Sachs predicted the economy will lose as many as 100,000 jobs in February due to blizzard-like conditions that kept employers and prospective hires from getting to the office.

Or doesn't a lie count in Washington after 30 days or something?
This is BS. The weather did not have anything to do with people losing their jobs all over this country.
Wake me when this freaking nightmare of an administration is over.
And NATURALLY The Hill says the weather is to blame!
“Goldman Sachs predicted the economy will lose as many as 100,000 jobs in February due to blizzard-like conditions”
Snow job ;-)
“Unexpected”
“It’s the weather”
It’s all BS. We’ve had snowstorms before and they’ve never caused layoffs. Any fool knows there is no real recovery going on, and they keep bringing up any reason they can as an excuse for more bad news. Next month it will be “big thunderstorms” in the south. In May it will be “college grads seeking summer jobs.” In June, it will be “teachers laid off for the summer.”
Most people can see through this baloney.
Are we sure this is not a case of lowering expectations so they can claim some kind of victory if they are not that bad. Whatever it is I can tell you, having been looking for a job over a year now, that it is bad out there. Go through a drive through, collage educated burger flippers and accountants running the registers. No one is expanding and when they fill a vacated position there are literally thousands of applicants. I myself have applied for lots of jobs I am clearly over qualified for only to receive a response saying they have better qualified candidates.
LOL They did this last month and the news ended up quite differently.
For a split second I thought it said -- Goldman Sachs predicted it will lose as many as 100,000 jobs in February
Darn I was happy for a second...
My best friend hasn't worked a full week in two months and just got laid off and my next door neighbor just had his power turned off and is living on a gas powered generator.
That constant humming is on my nerves but I understand and will say nothing as it may be ME next month.
We have already been told that layoffs are coming...
“Hutchison underestimated anti-Washington sentiment”
Houston Comical
And the Dums are running a Washington/Acorn/Sancuary City Elmer Fudd.
“It’s snowing...you’re fired.”? I don’t think so. If anything, claims should be down because of the snow storms.
They fooled us this week, though. They announced that they are going to blame it on the bad weather, what with this winter actually being cold and having snow and stuff this year. They hadn't counted on that. So it's the winter weather that they didn't expect in the first quarter of the year...
1) The person you were going to hire is not going to be a reliable employee.
2) The job unless filled immediately after the storms was never a viable position in the first place.
OMG, I will pray for all of you.
This is not just some set of numbers, it is about real people. And what is this bunch in D.C doing. Knashing their teeth about a HCR Bill that doesn’t even take effect immediately. What a nightmare.
If I’m not mistaken, the jobs reports are always released on Fridays.
There. Fixed it!
Whaaaat? Jobs losses because they couldn't hire people? Hiring people would be adding jobs, would it not? Did they fire or lay people off because they couldn't get to the office? Granted, I'm under the influence of medication at the moment so maybe it's just me but, this doens't make sense.
