Rep. Eric Massa (D-N.Y.) will not seek re-election after only one term in office.
According to several House aides on both sides of the aisle the House ethics committee has been informed of allegations that Massa, who is married with two children, sexually harassed a male staffer.
Massa and his office did not immediately respond to requests for comment, but his office has scheduled a press conference for later this afternoon.
Massa, a 20-year Navy veteran, was elected to office last November. He serves on the Agriculture, Armed Services and Homeland Security committees.

“Massa, a 20-year Navy veteran”, THIS bastard is a DISGRACE!

Vacancy isn’t filled via appointment like an empty senate seat, there needs to be a special election..

Hey, Betty Botox, how's that 'Most Ethical Congress in History' thing workin out for ya? Great. It got the GOP out of leadership in 2006 (Tom DeLay's case still have not been brought to trial and the corrupt partisan prosecutor who started it resigned and just lost his bid for Lt. Governor of Texas).
It was about attaining power, not about cleaning house of corruption.

A replacement can not be made to fill a House vacancy. The Constitution requires a special elelction be held.

Republicans had been aggressively targeting his seat...
While I doubt that, I am sure that Massa has been aggressively targeting the seats of his young staffers.
Uh-huh.

He was in the navy? Probably a merchant “seaman.”

Seriously, do you think this is a scorched earth example of what happens if you go against Obama & Rham?
All I can say is that I hope it’s true & that his life isn’t being ruined by a phony claim.

Just a week ago, he was symbolically fellating Andrew Cuomo in the press:
Rep. Eric Massa (D): I'd like to take this opportunity to formally call on our Attorney General Andrew Cuomo to get in the race for Governor. Andrew Cuomo has done a stellar job serving the families of New York and if he decides to run for Governor, he will have my full support. In this recession, we need new leadership in Albany to break the gridlock so we can work together to create more good paying jobs across the state and I think Andrew Cuomo is the right person for the job."
Save your blue dress, Eric.

Massa is a perv. What a surprise.
We would have beaten him in November, anyhow, but now the Democrats will probably sit this one out.
