The Lake Elsinore man pleaded guilty in May 2000 to molesting a 13-year-old female neighbor and served five years of a six-year prison term. Prosecutors said he lured the victim to his home with an offer to watch "Patch Adams," a 1998 movie starring Robin Williams. The girl was beaten before escaping and running to a neighbor. Gardner "never expressed one scintilla of remorse for his attack upon the victim" despite overwhelming evidence, prosecutors wrote in a sentencing memo.
He had faced a maximum of nearly 11 years in prison under terms of a plea agreement but prosecutors urged six years. A psychiatrist who interviewed Gardner, Dr. Matthew Carroll, wanted a stiffer punishment, saying in court documents that he was a "continued danger to underage girls in the community."
Gardner was on parole for three years, until September 2008, state records show.
San Diego police say Gardner is positively linked to an assault on a 22-year-old Colorado Springs, Colo., woman who managed to fend off her attacker on Dec. 27 in Rancho Bernardo Community Park on the northern edge of San Diego, where King's 1994 BMW was found with her belongings inside.

it seems with today’s technology, small, personal alarm/GPS systems, similar to the capability you have in you home, should be available with a simple push of a button, like the small teargas canister.
Its hard to carry a gun while jogging,..or dial a phone while the guy has viciously thrown you down and jumped on top of you.
Maybe all junior high and high schools should train girls in self-defense, as part of a PE class instruction.
dude, that is hilarious. Run that a few times after the 5 o’clock news.
That’s one hot ventilator....yes and yes.
A scalpel is too clean, too precise.
I’ve got a nice pair of steel toe boots that would do the job so much more satisfying manner, without either of us having to actually touch anything. Except for the toe. I’d love to show him the soft caress of a steel toe to the groin.
That was GREAT. I want my free rock too. :)
Wasn't Robin William's character's love interest in this movie killed by a guy in rehab?

yup...strangely.
All the more reason to teach your children how to use a weapon, any type of weapon be it Taser, bear or wasp spray, sharp edged or a firearm, and most importantly to be armed.
In a sheep society the lamb will be the choice of food for the wolves. Give a lamb a spiked collar, a sharp horn and even a method to spray an obnoxious smell the wolves won’t be so bold.
Just lettin’ y’all know that there is a potential “unintended consequence” to executing rapists and molesters.
1. Not all rapists and molesters kill their victims, possibly because they’re afraid of the death penalty.
2. The comment about “attributing rational thought’ could be used against the death penalty, too. No rational thought, no deterrence. However evidence indicates that the death penalty DOES deter murder; we just need to execute LOTS more of em to get the full effect.
Personally, I’m in favor of public hangings in the town square. But I want the impact maximized on the target groups.
“Did Jindal try to make habitual sexual assault a felony punishable by the death penalty?”
No, I believe he was trying for castration.
I am for extending the death penalty to those guilty of child molestation. These people cannot be rehabilitated, and they will continue to harm everyone with whom they come in contact. There is no place in this world for such people.
Death penalty for repeat rapists/molesters reduces recidivism to ZERO.
Let's hope the Supremes get this one right, before her summer move!
Mary Vincent would have slept a lot better had she been given the justice she deserved, instead she had to wait until her attacker was convicted for killing another victim and died in prison while on death row.
Don’t get me wrong, I like that idea too! If murder is involved, then they need the DEATH PENALTY! Televised for the entire country to see!!!
However, if they have not gone that far rogue from societal norms (which can be VERY broad - depending on the city and state you are in), then we need to make an effort to punish and re-habilitate all criminals! I say that from a valid perspective: I have friends and family who spent time behind bars - and ALL of them took the straight and narrow after their stints! But, all of them knew they were heading down a lonely, deadly road when they got caught, so they WANTED to change!
But, of course, that is just my opinion.
“I have friends and family who spent time behind bars”
Well,...i think this is related to violent sexual predators. Are you saying you have friends and family who spent time behind bars due to violent sexual predator acts? I don’t think you will have much sympathy here. Maybe their souls can rehabbed in the afterlife. cheers.
Oh yeah,
it’s a justice industry, not a justice system.
Sad thing is, I have no illusions it will ever change, there is no will to do so.
California has a death row where inmates die of everything but execution.
