Tea party candidate files against Reid
By JOSH KRAUSHAAR | 3/2/10 5:04 PM EST
Businessman Jon Ashjian filed today for the Nevada Senate race against Democratic Sen. Harry Reid on the tea party ballot line, and his third-party candidacy could have an impact in a close contest.
A Mason-Dixon poll conducted last week for the Las Vegas Review-Journal showed a generic tea party candidate could split the conservative vote and hand Reid the race. The poll showed Reid winning 36 percent of the vote, with a generic Republican at 32 percent and a tea party candidate at 18 percent.
Recent polls have shown Reid getting about 40 percent of the vote in head-to-head matchups with his potential GOP opponents, with both former Nevada GOP Chairwoman Sue Lowden and businessman Danny Tarkanian polling more than 50 percent in some polls.
This guy must be working for Harry Reid.
Just a quick google search makes me wonder if this guy isn’t an infiltrator.
He is NOT a REAL TEA party candidate.
More RAT shenanigans going on, here.
Third Party has to be a CommieCrate trick! IMHO
He is.
Just like Debra Medina, here in Texas.
An attempt to split the republican vote and hand the election to Reid.
Leftist spoiler. The real Tea Party people in Nevada have to start getting out the message, quick.
We have one here running in Michigan’s 7th district too. He looks like he might be as granny used to say “Peculiar”. Fortunately he’s a 1 percenter at best.

i am not surprised
Was this the “Coffee Party” Rush was talking about today. He had a story about the dems creating this astroturf group that’s trying to portray itself as a moderate alternative to the tea party.
Chapter and verse what the big bad corporations did in his wet dream of how they make elections go the way they dictate.
“This guy is a stooge for Harry Reid. The Democrats are trying to use dishonesty to divide and conquer.”
Nothing new in this. This kind of crap is SOP in their scummy little world.
I really hate these pukes.

I believe the registered Tea Party in Nevada is a Democrat sponsored operation as with the registered Tea Party in Florida.
Perhaps not an “infiltrator” but certainly a ringer.
Exactly what I was thinking: he's a plant. It's his job to split the vote.
Indeed, a quick google shows that the name Ashjian has no known meaning.
Its the principle behind the vote and not the actual outcome of the election that matters isnt it?
I remember a ross perot voter telling me that after it was announced the bill klinton won.
