McCain calls for a fresh start for health care (SNATCHING DEFEAT FROM THE JAWS OF VICTORY)
KOLD-TV 13 CBS Tucson, Ariz. ^ | 2010-03-01 | Jenny Anchondo

TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) – Arizona Senator John McCain wants President Obama to start health care reform all over again. He argues polls suggest Americans want a clean start and he says it needs more bipartisan support.

"This bill was written by Democrats for Democrats and then they tried and I understand power. What they try to do is peel off a couple of Republicans as they did with the stimulus bill and call it bipartisan," McCain said.

It only took until post 4 for sanity to emerge.

If Paul Ryan and Jim DeMint want to start over, when did starting over become a RINO position?

“If Paul Ryan and Jim DeMint want to start over, when did starting over become a RINO position?”

When Ryan and DeMint say start over, it is a thoughtful, conservative position. When McCain says it, he is a liar, and a fraud. He will be the first one to poison a start over.. There is your difference.

Thanks for the nod...I’m not falling for anything. Think about it from this angle: If McCain is singing from the Paul Ryan songbook, that just means we can point at our foremost RINO and say, “even he won’t work with you. Scrap the bill.”

I think some of you need to deal with your McCain Derangement Syndrome*.

To whit:

McCain's position that we should start over is the same position Paul Ryan holds.

It's the same position Jim DeMint holds.

It's the same position that anti-takeover groups like CPR have been pushing since last summer.

It's the same position that a large number of freepers hold.

It's the same position 60% of the American people hold.

It's the same position expressed on countless tea party signs, at countless town halls and in countless phone calls to Congress.

It's a position that would, at worst, tie Obambi's socialist agenda up for months.

Yet, if McLame stakes out this position, he's "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory."

Um...no. Not even close.

So let's get a grip. Nobody has to like the putz, but let's not be a bunch of kneejerks who hear "down" when he says "up."

* McCain Derangement Syndrome is the inability to process information in a sane manner if it is connected to Senator John McLame. This is distinct from a healthy, normal derision of McCain's RINO ways.

“McCain’s position that we should start over is the same position Paul Ryan holds.”

So?

The Constitutional position should be that the federal government has NO FREAKING PLACE IN THE DISCUSSION. PERIOD.

If that isn’t the GOP position, then they are part of the problem.

I think you are to get on the side of getting rid of the problem. You seem to want to be part of the problem. McCain must go also.

I think we have vastly differing views of the bona fides of Senor McLame. I don’t have a problem with sending Jim DeMint and Paul Ryan into a closed door room to negotiate a health care bill with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. But anyone who would trust McLame negotiating 1/6th of our national economy with the Dim sharks is out of their mind. We’ve seen too many of his “bipartisan” sausage making efforts before.

McCain has clearly stated that he wants to restart the Obama health care "reform" legislative push AND to do so in a "bipartisan" manner.

As I have said, the last time McCain went bipartisan, we all got screwed a la McCain-Feingold, McCain-Lieberman-Warner, McCain-Dorgan, McCain-Levin, McCain-Kennedy-Obama, etc.

If you want to push McCainian bipartisanship, you are a RINO apologist.

"I think some of you need to deal with your McCain Derangement Syndrome..." There are two words McCain can say that will have me praising him. I resign. ...That would put to rest my McCain Derangement Syndrome. Otherwise, he is a mean, old mongrel that bites as soon as you let down your guard. Trust him at your own risk, and don't say you weren't warned.

All of your response is well and good. But John should just go away for being John McCain. That’s enough of a reason in and of itself.

SET THEIR LOCAL AND DC LINES ON FIRE!

PLEASE ASK THEM TO REPEAL THE BIG NEW FEES in TRICARE for Life, the retired Military over 65 secondary health ins. which they passed in a DOD bill. They promised our Military these benefits, and our Military have earned them.

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.) http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9925/12-18-HealthOptions.pdf

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.
Snip The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Snip

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

Where did I say McCain was conservative?

All I said was that him saying the same things about this bill that conservatives are saying is helping us, not screwing us.

Only in the world you MDS suffers can a person call a guy a putz, lame and worthy of derision and be treated as one of his fans. Go take your meds.
