What infringements would the founders have found permissible?

“The beauty of the Second Amendment is that we will never need it until they come to take it away.” Thomas Jefferson

Do you have a reference for this?
This is a great quote but the lexicon seems a bit modern.

The petitioner in this case is Mr. McDonald, a black, who probably remembers something about those Black Codes during Reconstruction days when blacks were prohibited from owning firearms. Apparently, this didn’t bother the Klan. All Mr. McDonald wants to do is protect his life and hearth from the thugs in his neighborhood. Self-preservation is the first law of nature. The Founding Fathers knew this even if liberals do not.

It's in plain English, 'shall not be infringed'. Any regulation is unconstitutional.

That may be right but I doubt any of the nine justices would agree completely with that statement.

Notice the names of those “white” males?

They're not following the template. Usually hispanics are "white" when they commit crimes, but are "hispanic" when they are victims of crimes. This helps skew the numbers to be more PC.

I do not but having said that, it summarizes much of what Jefferson wrote on the subject as authenticated by various collections of his papers and the University of Virginia.

I should mention that we citizens of the State of Chicago do violate Mayor Daley's laws. I know many folks here who possess weapons at their homes and on their person, while also taking the necessary C-note ($100 dollar bill) in their wallets for bond should they be stopped. The collective idea is that while the City may try and violate the 2nd Amendment, there are citizens who refuse to allow themselves or their families to be threatened by the local street scum.

It’s the MOST important right insured by the Constitution. (Mao said so)

~~~~
Speaking of Mao, guess who’s now a campaign adviser
to the lib Brit, Cameron, the candidate with whom -0
wants to deal .. opposing Prime Minister Brown ?
YeP!!!!!!!
~~~~

*snip*

In his speech to party activists in Brighton, Cameron warned of “the incredible dark depression of another five years of Gordon Brown,” declaring, “It’s an election we have to win because the country is in a complete mess and it’s our patriotic duty to turn it around.”

Alluding to the narrowing polls, he said “this election was always going to be a real fight for our party.”

“They don’t hand general election victories and governments on a plate to people in this country, and quite right too.”

In his speech, Cameron referred to “change” about 30 times. The Conservative Party’s election slogan is “vote for change,” mirroring that of President Obama.

The British election will for the first time feature live, televised U.S.-style leader debates, and it was reported last week

***that former White House communications director Anita Dunn has been hired to help Cameron prepare for the three 90-minute encounters.

Bill Knapp, another Obama consultant and Dunn’s colleague at Squier, Knapp, Dunn Communications in Washington D.C., also will be helping the Cameron campaign, according to reports in The Times of London and the Wall Street Journal.

That’s a relief ...

All the big wigs either have security
details or illegal weapons, as in the
head of the School Board, who allegedly
Chicago-ed himself with a gun .. Michael
Scott.

The Court cannot strike down a law that was not asserted by law enforcement, and thus isn’t challenged. The Court cannot strike down a law that was not asserted by law enforcement, and thus isn’t challenged.

That may be right but I doubt any of the nine justices would agree completely with that statement.

Which is why this country has a problem.

I don’t know if those numbers are more or less than usual. I know that when I was growing up outside Chicago it was not uncommon to hear of at least one murder every night on the news, or more — especially in the summer, and on the weekends (or so it seemed... a reg. occurrence at least). After all, there are over 9.5 million people living in the greater metro area, and some really bad areas among those rife with drugs and gangs. It will be a VERY good thing if this law is finally overturned. I was pleasantly surprised by Heller, and I hope it is the same with this case — praying for it...
